Catalytic Converter for 3.7?

Which would be my best option for maximum air flow while still passing inspections?

Thunderbolt was suggested but I saw a poll on a Chevy forum that had 10xs more votes for Magnaflow.

Whichever would give me the best results. Ryan suggested the Thunderbolt in the first place so I think that'll be the one to go with :D

People suggest Magnaflow because of the name. I've used both. Thunderbolt is 1/3 the price of the equivalent carsound (magnaflows cat line) cat, with no discernable difference in flow.

just remember you have to buy 2 cats!!! i was going to do this as well. there is a pretty big thread for it... i opted not to do it. not really worth it. get a exhaust first (just hte muffler) the full cat back exhaust keeps the same size piping so it's not worth getting.

Oh, almost didn't realize that I'd need 2, nice catch

I've already got an aftermarket muffler - Thrush Welded

I'll try to find the thread.

Re: Catalytic Converter for 3.7?

^^^ please explain... i thought we agreed since it doesn't change the diameter of the pipe from the cat to the tip there was no point to get it, it was worth just to get the muffler

Re: Catalytic Converter for 3.7?

A chains only as strong as it's weakest link and an exhaust system can only use as much diameter as it's thinnest point so unless the ENTIRE system can be widened without having to do a ton of crazy custom stuff I see no point.
