A year in my TRAILHAWK

Called a local dealer today hoping to get additional info on the new Cherokee Trailhawk and possibly to order one. Unfortunately they pretty much knew nothing about it. They did say that they expect to be able to order them on June 5th. I'm about 98% sure I'll pull the trigger on one as long as they are in the mid 30k range. Most likely the white and definitely the TrailHawk with the 3.2L. Also kinda expecting to swap the OEM wheels from my 2012 wrangler unlimited.

I'll document the oder/waiting/delivery process and do a first drive write up here.

I have never ordered a car before so I'm not completely familiar with the process and whether or not to expect price negotiations on the deal. Given that these will be rare for a little bit is it likely that I will be paying whatever the sticker price is or should I expect some savings?

People ordering the 2014 Grand Cherokee's were able to get a decent amount below invoice when ordering. When you order though have everything set in stone in writing, when we ordered our Grand Cherokee we didn't even have pricing yet. You cold join a few different clubs like tread lightly or AAA and get affiliate pricing which is 1 percent below invoice without any hassle though.

I hate to break it to you but based on last year special editions like the trailhawk, altitude, etc... didn't come out until the fall. And with the recent delays with everything I wouldn't expect anything sooner.

I haven't seen anything on wk2jeeps stating that any special editions are official as of yet & I haven't read anything here that confirms it either.

Keep checking here & you'll get the info way before any dealer will tell you about it.

Even though it's a special edition, you won't have to pay sticker. I guarantee it.

The trailhawk will be available right away. They have already introduced it and I have seen more of them than anything else.

if there are any Photoshop gurus lurking here I would love to see what the stock wheels off of my 2012 Wrangler would look like under the new Cherokee mine are the five star wheels but they're painted black.

OK. I just haven't heard anything about it nor have I paid that close of attention to it.

Chrysler delays launch of new Jeep Cherokee

Good find. This wait is gonna suck.

I agree... However, I prefer they get the kinks worked out before sending these things out. I'm not in the market until fall so I'm hoping the timing is good. Put me down for the trailhawk too!

No offense but mid 30K is ridiculous for a small suv. I wouldn't pay that much. Not a slam on the new Cherokee but for that kind of coin you could get a much more capable vehicle.

No offense taken, as always ones opinion is very subjective. In my case a midsize SUV with true off road capabilities, proper on road habits, 25mpg+, a towing capacity above 3000#, and some creature comforts in the interior is EXACTLY what I have been looking for. From my point of view nothing else out there hits the mark quite like this vehicle which is why I ended up doing searches 2014's. The only box on my list that this one doesn't quite fill in is the cargo space. Even this though may not be a real issue I'll just have to check that out when it arrives. Seems to me getting a vehicle that checks of 99% of my want list and comes in under my max budget of 40 K is it too ridiculous at all.
