Clear Bra

Having seen some inquires about clear bras and thought I would share some thoughts after doing a lot of research. My own opinions. Not knocking any product or installers abilities.

#1 The product XPEL seems to be better than 3M. XPEL can "self-heal" and is easier to clean. (My opinion)

#2. Make sure they are certified XPEL installers. The company is happy to verify for you. They should be able to cut kits themselves in house. A good installer will be happy to show you the equipment. Self cutting bulk product takes an "extremely" talented person. (he should of been a surgeon) Some self-cutting can be necessary ie door edges, underneath door handles

#3. If the shop is clean and has good lighting equipment (wall mounted) it shows the installer is meticulous.

#4. PRICE! For example: A JEEP Grand Cherokee should be in the $900.00 range. That should include full front (including PDF at bottom) with about 18 inches up the hood, sides, door handles indents (cannot door chrome mirrors or door handles), headlamps, door edges.

A good install is worth the money. Just take the time to shop at 2-3 shops.

Thanks for the tips!

I had my clearbra added at the dealership, so I didn't have a choice as to who installs it (a company in the area comes to the local dealerships to install). I've never had issues with the workmanship on my prior vehicles adding clearbra, but for some reason it took three times for this Autobaun company to get it right on my Jeep. The material just seemed on the thin side, and had stretch marks all over. The third time they used the "good stuff" as they said, and it came out fine. The Service Manger at the dealership said it might have something to do with the fact the 2014 GC just came out, and maybe they didn't have the templates ready for it yet.

I only paid $500 for my clearbra application which included the whole nose, front sides of fenders, and about a foot or so up on the hood...all with a lifetime warranty.

I got mine clear wrapped for 650 in Phili. They use 3m. Holds up well. Some of the best money I've spent on the vehicle for the amount of highway driving I do.

$500.00 was right on! Sounds like they used Xpel or 3M ventureshield product on the second go around. I ended paying $850.00 for my job in the Chicago area. The only difference seems I added down both sides all 4 doors and rear fenders, all 4 door handle indents, all 4 door edges, and head lamp assemblies. The whole concept is just great!

I should of added in the first thread that $900.00 range was in Chicago area. A little pricier here but I think they add BULLET proof shield in Chicago! You guy did good.

Did this come with any warranty? That is a great price IMO. I got quoted 800 as a "friend price" from a place near the shore.
