Getting Navteq maps
I put a 2009 MyGig RER unit in my 2006 Grand Cherokee with Lockpick. When I signed up for Cerius, they said the unit came from a 2009 Aspen (or 2009 something like that). It seems like Navteq maps are very specific to make and model ??? why would that be.

When I look on ebay there are 2012 updates but they alway list specific makes and models of Chrysler products. Why are they model specific ?

With a 2009 Dodge MyGig in my 2006 Jeep, how do I get a Map Update that will work ? And why does Navteq say they are "out of stock" on most updates for the last few weeks ?

Re: Getting Navteq maps
Navteq issued a map update for the RER earlier this year. A software glitch caused problems with the traffic systems. I'd guess they pulled the updates because of the problems. Navteq was very vague about the problem and offered poor customer support. I'd avoid the update (wish I had).

Re: Getting Navteq maps
When I order a map do I have to worry about all the vehicle model details. Like I said its a Dodge RER in a Jeep with Lockpick.

Their web site makes you order by model and year.
