Is dealer paint/interior protection worth it?

I originally told the dealer no thanks for the paint/interior protection package. Does anybody feel that they are worth it, or a rip? Thanks

Generally a rip off.

Find the quantum interior kit on Ebay and do it yourself. Quantum paint sealant makes my Jeeps clear coat shine like clean glass.

I avoid all that dealer add-on stuff like the plague. The only thing I do with finance guy is the extended warranty.

It is more of an expensive warranty than anything else. It really consists of a first wax job and maybe scotch guard on the inside, maybe!

If you're going to get a paint sealant either do it yourself or go to a GOOD detailer, IMO

I've been using this stuff (applied by a detailer) for over 20 years, and love it.
TST 5000 With PTFE
I know dealers who use it, but charge approx. twice what my detailer does.

Re: Is dealer paint/interior protection worth it?

I bought it once for my Ram LAramie as I just could not wax and polish a truck without breaking my arm off. Did not see any real improvment tha I could not do myself. I sucked it in anf bought a random orbital buffer and several buffing pads and was ableteo wax and polish an entire truck with camper shell in about 90 minutes. Do the insides with Armor All. Don't pay them outrageous amounts for a cheap wax job.

Armor All is poison. It will kill vinyl, rubber and leather. It will be a slow hideous death.

I've never had a problem before...but then cars keep breaking down on me so I keep replacing them......what do you recommend I use? Is that Zymol stuff any good?

Re: Is dealer paint/interior protection worth it?

I like Meguiar's products. I use a slightly damp microfiber cloth on leather. Like I said, TST 5000 on the paint. Never tried Zymol, so I can't give you an objective opinion. I believe anything with aromatic hydrocarbons will dry out and degrade almost any material over time. I find that products using polymer formulas are pretty friendly. I believe in the Hippocratic Oath: "First, do no harm".
