Rented 2013 Limited - seats? Other...

I'm in Austin Texas buying rental houses and attending the college graduation of one of my nieces. The power seats in the 2013 Grand Cherokee Limited I rented just do not cut it compared to the much better ones in my 2006 Explorer. The power driver's seat has no way to go back AND raise the rear of the seat. If it goes back, in goes down in back, as on an incline. The front of the cushion can be raised and lowered. Was a better power seat available?
The cushion is also not as comfortable as that on the Explorer, as it is too soft. The thing only has 10,000-some miles on it, so the seat is not worn out. Maybe it is designed for big fat owners?

Otherwise it is quiet, and the V6 performs nicely once it revs. I'm accustomed to V8 power, but the V6 is not as bad as I had expected. The good Mercedes-Benz transmission is a big help, and the new 8-speed transmission in the 2014 models should be even better.

The rental vehicle has a huge sunroof, so that may be why the eyeglasses holder is in an awkward location at the very front of the roof console.

I have an X package and I find my seats very comfortable. I'm 6'1" and ~ 200 lbs. but on my pops overland, I can't stand the "Overland" stitching that is stiff in the center of my back.

I may be wrong but I think the sunglass holder is in the same spot on both.

I drove it 2.5 tankfuls, and there was no way to get a good position for my right leg/foot. The seat bottom cushions were also too soft. For something that expensive, it would have been a very big mistake to buy (actually the Durango brother was what I was considering) without such a "test drive!"

I see that the Grand Cherokee (and Durango) have 8-way power seats, but the window sticker for my Explorer shows it has a 10-way seat.

I thought it was funny that you can't raise the back of the seat when it's all the way back. It's the only car I ever owned that worked this way.

I guess Jeep figured if you are tall enough to want the seat all the way back, you wouldn't be raising the seat. Also, if you use exit mode to put the seat all the way back, it's easier to get in and out with the seat lower. In most cases they are probably right.

I wind up not putting the seat as far back as I would like in order to maintain a comfortable height. I found a comfortable compromise, so no complaints.

He compared a 13 limited to an 06 ford.

Ok I'm done here.

LOL... everyone has a preference and nobody's butt is the same size and shape. The Explorer is a great vehicle, but I never did like the seats in them. I do agree with OP on why they don't raise the back part of the seat... its not uncomfortable, but is weird.
