2014 GCSRT at the track today

I ran the SRT at the Lapeer Dragway in Michigan today with the Motor City Viper Club. The good news is that the onboard timing system agreed very well with the track timers. The bad news is that I couldn't break below the 13 second barrier. I had removed the jack & spare tire. The fuel tank was only 1/4.

.302 Reaction Time
1.895 --- 60 Ft
7.956 --- 594 Ft
8.497 --- 1/8 ET
83.14 --- 1/8 MPH
13.138 --- 1/4 ET:D
103.05 --- 1/4 MPH

Onboard Timer
0 - 60 MPH --- 4.7
8.4 --- 1/8 ET
83 --- 1/8 MPH
13.2 --- 1/4 ET
102 --- 1/4 MPH

I only ran twice and the second launch got messed up by the track officials.

I wonder if some on board timers are more liberal than others. After a 4.9 two 4.6's I got a 4.2 and a 12.7 1/4 on a dead flat road. I had a passenger and we both said holy shit when it launched because it felt way harder, but I'm still skeptical. I only have 550 miles on her.

My second launch felt quite a bit harder than any of my previous launches also but like I said there were problems with the official's start. Mother's Day I launched at 4.5 & 13.1 but that was cooler temps with a 260 lb passenger, so there are variables.
These machines run!!!!:D

The brakes are insane too. I told my passenger to put his seatbelt on and he didn't really comprehend. I asked if he wanted to feel a 90-0 and he said yes. Well he got one and put on the seatbelt directly.

Re: 2014 GCSRT at the track today

I will say this. I've been drinking a bit (my birthday is tomorrow), but I sort of wished I went with a Porsche cayman and bought a work truck instead of having an everyday driver that's bad as all hell. The only reason is that I feel bad putting miles on a truck this sweet. I can't find anyone to put a clear bra on it so I don't drive it to work (shitty roads). So I take the s1000rr to work most days. The bimmer is rad, but I need a cage for most days of work. I'm rambling

Edit: I read this. I'm dumb. Part on!

Re: 2014 GCSRT at the track today

This is what i did to get the times in my 2012 in the 1/8 mile. The 14 are a tad lighter than the 12&13 so i took out every thing i didnt need and heres what it was. I had a 1/4 tank of gas (91) octane, Spare tire, jack, 2 storage bins where the spare tire is,3 floor mates, rear pull tarp and that totaled up to 74 lbs. Next time ill pull out the rear lift lid as it weighs in at 16 lbs and that will total 90 lbs in all. My race wt with me in it was 5492 lbs. Now we no the stock tunes are very rich so i made the 1st pass as it was and ran a 8.36@81.80.2nd pass i took out the air filter to lean the tune down and it ran a 8.29@82.51. 3rd pass i switched lanes and spun the tires a tad and ran 8.33@82.91. The 60' times were 1.82,1.80,1.85. Evic 0/60 was 4.3 on 2nd pass. The DA was +869ft. I launched all runs at idle and hope this helps and next time out i have 2 gal of 9 month old vp109 ill be adding with 2 gal of fresh 100 with 2 gal of 91 to see if i can lean the tune down even more.
