Try this and tell me if it makes sense to you. Set your option for 1st press of keyfob unlocks all doors. This also allows you to unlock all doors when touching the outside driver's door handle. This makes sense. Notice though when you go to get out of the car, pulling on the inside driver's door handle only unlocks the driver's door.

Now set the option to 1st press of the keyfob unlocks drivers door. Now when you touch the driver's outside door handle, only the driver's door unlocks. This makes sense. What doesn't make sense is now when you pull the driver's door handle from the inside, all the doors unlock.

It seems like if you set the option for first press of the keyfob to unlock all doors, then when you pull the driver's door handle from the inside it should unlock all doors. Also if you have the option set to unlock just the driver's door, it should do this as well when you go to unlock from the inside. It seems the logic was reversed for unlocking from the inside and unlocking from the outside.

Auto unlock on exit is a setting in the evic. It can be set to unlock all doors, or not, when the drivers door is opened.

Yes, and I have it enabled. That setting combined with the 1st press of the key fob setting to unlock all doors or just the driver's door, doesn't make sense. If you only want your keyfob to unlock the driver's door with a 1 button press, why would you want it to unlock all doors when you pull your driver's door handle from the inside? And if you have it set to unlock all doors with the first press of the keyfob, why would you want the car to only unlock the driver's door when you pull the inside door handle?

Can't help as the way mine works makes sense to me.

Re: 2014 lock/unlock options don't make sense

Ok. It makes no sense to me. Maybe a scenario would help.

I hit the door unlock button on my key fob or touch the driver's door handle and all doors unlock. I have it set to unlock all doors with one press so I can throw my bag in the back seat. When I get to where I am going, I pull my door handle and just my door unlocks. So now to get my bag I need to hit the unlock button to unlock the back door. My other option is I set it so that I have to press twice on the keyfob to unlock all doors. With that setting, touching the outside door handle only unlocks the drivers door. I now have to use my key fob to unlock the rear door, or reach in and hit the unlock button. Then when I get out, I can simply pull the inside door handle to unlock all doors. Seems backwards to me.

Re: 2014 lock/unlock options don't make sense

The driver's door unlocks when you pull on the interior handle due to a mechanical linkage setup, not because of the settings in the system. The passenger's interior door handle works the same. Common feature among cars now a days. My old '96 Grand did it as well.

So the auto unlock on exit causes the passenger's door, rear doors, and tailgate to unlock when you open the driver's door. If you turn off the auto unlock on exit, the driver's door will still unlock when you pull on the inside handle due to mechanical linkage setup I mentioned above.

Auto unlock on exit is not tied to the unlock setting for the exterior door handle and remote entry.

Make sure you have both the auto unlock on exit selected and unlock on one press selected. From your scenarios it sounded like you had unlock with one press 'ON' and auto unlock on exit 'OFF' and then two press unlock 'ON' and auto unlock on exit 'OFF'.

No, the auto unlock behaves differently, or maybe just doesn't work, depending on what your keyfob unlock setting is. That is the point I am trying to make. If you have the setting for 1 press on the key fob unlocks the drivers door, then the auto unlock opens all doors. If you change it so that 1 press on the keyfob unlocks all doors, then the auto unlock just unlocks the drivers door. Try it and see.

Did you try changing the unlock on exit setting?

I don't use my keyfob buttons for anything, but when I walk up to the car and touch the driver handle, all doors unlock. When inside the car, when I open the driver door, all doors unlock, and when I press the unlock button on the key fob, all doors unlock (but I think I double press the unlock button out of habit from my previous Liberty).

I'll double check, but I think it's on because it does unlock all doors when I pull my driver's inside door handle IF the setting to unlock just the driver's door on one press of the keyfob is set.

Ok, I think I have it fixed now. I turned off the auto unlock feature and turned it back on again and now it works as expected. Must have been a bug in the Uconnect.
