a few leds out

Hi all first post here. Just bought a 2014 JGC overland on monday i just noticed that the driver side drl has a section of led's out. I have a service appointment tomorrow to have it fix. My question is how hard it is to replace these bulbs does the hole assembly need replace or can you just replace the section that is not working I don't want to have to go to the dealer every time this happens not sure how led's can burn out that damn quick car has 200 miles on it crazy. O well at least i get to know my service department My first Jeep and I'm loving it not even mad about the DRL any other suv I would have bought I'd be making a huge deal about it but I love this Jeep

I don't think anyone has any experience replacing them as they are only months old. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

With it been so new, i would take it to the dealer, it might be more than just a bad led .... But hopefully its just that.

I'd bet the entire headlamp assembly has to be replaced.

Did you take it to the dealer?

I'm interested to know myself.

No can do. :p They come in already attached to the "FEM", but don't ask me what "FEM" means. Obviously an acronym...

Front End Module? lol... I dunno.

I have the same issue on the drivers side of my 2014 Overland. ((Purchased the first week of May.) The angled section of the LED DRL is out on the drivers side. There is light spillage from the adjacent lights, so it does look as if its partially lit, but its clearly dimmer than it should be. I took it to the dealer today to have it checked out and fixed, and I was told that the lights are working fine, and no replacement is authorized at this time. I insisted that its not working correctly as the passenger side is uniformly lit and the drivers side is not. But whoever they escalated the situation to would not approve a replacement. I realize its a minor quibble, but it is noticeable, and at 2 months old, it should be working perfectly still.

If you get a good response from your dealer, could you let me know so I can go back to my dealer and push it harder. If there are others in the system with the same exact issue, it may be easier to get things resolved.

I had one or 2 out in the top row my service adviser could see it np but it was difficult to see at times. They told me it would take weeks if not months to get a replacement because they don't even make them for replacement parts yet. Service adviser told me to call Chrysler after calling them one was delivered the following week all fixed now. Btw is a $1200 part if it were out of Warranty you have to replace the entire light assembly

Thanks for the additional info. I'll put a call into Chrysler tomorrow and see how that goes.

Wow that's a huge chunk of change for that assembly.

Yeah it is I hope when and if mine burn out again there will be some cool aftermarket ones. I'm assuming that the motor for the adaptive headlights is built into the assembly maybe that's the reason for the high price?
