DRL Question

I'm renting a 2014 JGC Limited. The DRLs don't seem to be working right. According to the manual, they should be on whenever the engine is running and the transmission isn't in park. I have the DRL box checked in the UConnect system. The only time I can get them to come on is when I turn on the headlights or parking lights. But I'm assuming from the above description that these should be on all the time when I'm driving around, even if the headlight switch is in the auto position.

Am I missing something?

Tony

Is the parking brake off?

I believe there is a setting in uconnect that you can turn them on or off.

And that is why you should never buy a former rental.

There is a rental Nissan Sentra out there somewhere that has, hidden beneath the carpet lining the trunk, a "this car climbed Mt. Washington" bumper sticker. Hey, when it's someone else's wheels, you seize the opportunity...

Re: DRL Question

How could I see if the DRLs were on or not if I was driving around? Ha ha!

I was parked when I checked them. I'd get out, look at them to see if they were on, try various settings, repeat, etc. I put the transmission into drive, but used the parking brake to keep the Jeep in one spot (hence why they weren't on). I ended up finding a reflective surface (store window in a parking lot) so I could check them with the parking brake off.
