Jeep Sold - Now it's for sale at Carmax! $$$

So a few of you may have seen my postings trying to sell my '13 Overland V8. I absolutely loved the Jeep but it was burning gas and money not to my liking. I was having a very hard time getting rid of it for close to what I owed thanks to the '14s already being discounted.

Anyway I ended up selling it to CarMax in CT for $37k, which is thousands higher than any dealership in NY would touch it for. I had offers from $32-$36 for a 3 months old JGC...sad....

I was just curious to see what they did with the Jeep and saw the car newly listed on CarMax... $43k!!!!! I can't believe how much they are asking for it. You could probably buy a new one for close to that. Oh well.

Just felt like sharing...good bye folks - maybe one day I'll be back

Remember the put that price knowing that they will negotiate anything from 2 to 3 grand off.

even at "No haggling CarMax"? I know some people who bought cars there and they don't budge on price.

I bought my 2012 wrangler at carmax and they dropped the prize from 27k to 24.6k just a good negotiating skills and time and place. End of month, end of model year, end of the day.

And money on hand, not try to do the whole financing thing at the dealer, you do that prior to get to the dealer with ur bank

The price listed is their "no haggle price". But if they don't sell your Jeep after a few weeks that number will change. Seems like Carmax is more willing to drop the price at a faster pace than most other dealers if it doesn't sell. There have been a few cars I had my eye on at Carmax and if your patent,(or in my case don't but them at all) you'll see over time how that price will come down. In one instance they were asking $35K and by the time the vehicle sold it went for $32K.

... Goes to show ya! New car dealers make their money on auto/truck service. Used car dealers make their money on, well, used cars.
