Whine/Noise While Driving!

I had the 36k mile service one while the Jeep was getting the new transmission and Ive noticed that something is whining now!

Im not sure if its the new transmission, transfer case, diffs, etc!

Here are scans of the services for the transfer case and diffs...Ive heard that its possible that the wrong fluids were used!?

What do you guys think?

Do you know where the whine is coming from? Front or Rear? Could be the Differentials.

They were provably short on oil in one of the diffs, i know that's how i got my whine out back and now my rear yoke bearing needs replacement.

X2. I have seen that too many times.

Either you are short on oil or they forgot to add the friction modifier. Even though it says they added it, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't.

I had the same whine/noise problem after replacing the transfer case. In my case, the problem was both drive shaft, front and rear. $160. front / $201. rear @ moparamerica.com. Installation, $40 each. The dealer told me that the SRT8 wheels are the cause of the problem.. Oh well, tough shit, Im not taking them out.. LOL :D

x3

also what Fabian said might be true also ... if you have a good set of wrenches you can do the drive shafts yourself very easy to take out ... I took out mine to see what difference 4x2 and 4x4 would do

the SRT wheels are virtually the same diameter as the stocks 17's and about the same weight or lighter......why would they affect anything?

sounds like an electrical interference to me. Youve mentioned this before right?

This is why i hate having major repairs done. It seems like nothing is ever right after the fact.

Where and when do you hear the whine? Is it over a certain speed, certain gear, is the whine heard when it isn't movin. Come on Frankie I need more info.
