Lowering / Levelling QL

I managed to get a bit of time at the weekend to have a look at levelling the QL system, its really easy job and after doing mine it took ten minutes to do my Bro's.

At first I tried 1/2" cut out the connecting rod as recommended, but this dropped the rear way lower than the front, so we had another go with only 1/4" cut out and it brings it almost level (in park mode there's 2" arch gap and 2.5" at the rear) which is about right.

How to - - Get yourself some 8mm I.D steel tube.

Locate the QL servo (Pic Below), pop the ball joints off, these are only plastic so just pull off, cut 1/4" out the tube, cut from the middle as the ball ends go about 1/2" up the pipe. Now measure the length between the ball joints of the two bits of pipe and cut the steel tube to this length, slide the ball joints into the pipe and crimp the ends in vice.

Looks good! I just did mine as well. I'm thinking about adjusting the front also to make it "sport mode" when in Auto 1.

This probably belongs in this thread:

I finally snapped some pics of mine finished. I did the front as well. Messing around with the front initially I got a "air suspension cooling down" message. It's very touchy and one move too far can start flashing messages. Never had a problem adjusting the rear.

park mode:

sport mode(I'm guessing about the same as previous park mode):

Normal ride height:

How I made adjustable sensor links:

This is temporary for now until I can find the correct ball links to snap over the factory stud. All I did was epoxy nutserts into the factory link, used jam nuts, and threaded rod to make them adjustable. The fronts are made in the same fashion. Actually seams fairly solid.

Next thing for me is some SRT reproduction 22"s and I'm set.....

Looks good mate, I was thinking about having a play with the front this week, how does she ride in sports mode, is there still suspension at that height.

I thought it rode fine. A touch firmer, but to me it feels more like what sport mode should be. nothing like OR2 when stock. looked at the bags and they seem to have plenty of air in them at that setting.

In auto mode I couldn't tell any difference at all.

I don't think I would go any lower than mine in park mode for the front, because the tires are starting to camber in quite a bit in that setting.

I also want to remind everyone: Lengthen the front rods to lower the vehicle, shorten the rear ones. Opposite of course if you want to raise it.

It's pretty sweet to have a completely adjustable suspension for $6.00 in parts...:D

I dropped the back a little more since I had lowered the front. I'm leaving it alone for now.

I lowered mine again this week, 6mm at the front and another 4mm on the rear, might go down another couple of mm but that will be it, yours looks good mate, Jeeps do look good either low or high but I'm more of a lower man. Just got to sort my wheel fitment again and get them flush now.

How did you lower you front, I just straightened the standard servo rod, which took all of 5 mins.

I did the front the same as the rear. The rods are straight enough that I cut the bent part and inserted nutserts into the ends.

Sorry to hash up an old thread but I really want to level out my summit and was wondering how you got the link ends out of the cut pipe? Is it possible to just remove the ball ends and then cut the existing pipe? I'm having trouble locating a suitable 8mm pipe and a little more info would be great! Thanks

Lowering / Levelling QL

I've ordered the links from adjustableairride.com just received them today, will do a write up on install later this week. I plan on only dropping the rear as I do not want to drastically mess with the alignment.

They look good.
Are they a direct bolt up item and how much did they cost?

Cheers
