Recall Rejected

I'm not sure how i feel about this. Maybe we all should send a letter to Chrysler Corp. the more opposition they receive the better our chances.

Re: Recall Rejected

They really want to recall vehicles that are 10-20 years old at this point huh...

TJXJWJ 06-06-2013 05:53 AM

I don't know about you guys, but everything about this screams BS to me. The newest jeep on this list is a decade old and any vehicle I have owned in that time has had a has tank mounted between the bumper and rear axle. I love free parts as much as the next guy, but I don't see how this should turn into an actual recall based on what I have read about it. Go jeep...fight the power

Sergio was probably overheard making a negative comment about Obama. Next week the IRS will show up to audit Jeeps's books.

Now they'll probably show up at my door too. :D

Ford blazed the way with the Pinto :slapfight:

This does scream vendetta to me, since it only targets one brand.

And bill_de just got us all audited by association, now Jeep Garage will be added to the list of terroristic organizations, lol.

TheStreet16 06-06-2013 09:26 AM

Hypothetically, if the recall went through how would they even fix this? Put a big old skid plate between the tank and axle?

TJXJWJ 06-06-2013 03:23 PM

Who knows...armor plating between the bumper and the tank? I certainly wouldn't mind a new tank skid, but I think this whole thing is nuts. I understand the need for manufacturers to provide safe products, but come on...does it need to be bomb proof? How many people further expose tanks with body lifts? How many people lower their rides and now can easily submarine the back of any SUV in a collision?

Don't think there's ever enough fuel in mine to ignite! 3.88 per gal around me. Smh.

:rolllol: Both figuratively and literally!

First of all my condolences to the friends and families who's loved ones were lost in such a fashion.

Did NHTSA reach some magical number that triggered this call for action?

I think our national bridge infrastructure is in more dire need of a recall IMO.
