2000 Grand Cherokee Dome Lights
I have started noticing that the dome lights stay on even though all of the doors are definitely closed as well as the dial set where the lights should only come on if a door is open. Also I noticed that when all doors are closed and the key is in the ignition, the door open chime goes off but when I turn the car on or just auxiliary power the chime turns off.
Just today I cleaned the battery terminals and reset the BCM by disconnecting the battery for an hour but the dome light problem persists, any ideas on why this is happening? Thanks in advance.

Re: 2000 Grand Cherokee Dome Lights
Do the light go off when you put the dim switch in full dim?
No problem with power windows and power locks?
Does the EVIC show any door open?
Could be a broken wire in the door boot from the door the EVIC is showing.

the lights do go off when i put it on full dim, power windows no, but locks yes (driver and both rear doors do not unlock when i use the beeper). The EVIC says no doors are open.

I would have a look at the wiring in the drivers door boot. Check for broken wire.
