Trade In Advice

Looking to trade in my 2011 Overland with factory rear DVD as soon as the 14's with rear dvd become available (sometime in July). I have read some people are getting anywhere between $32,000 and $36,000 for their Overland trades. I only have 11,500 miles and it is in showroom condition. What would be a fair asking price in for this?

Well I just traded in my 2012 Overland V6 last month with no extra options aside from the off road package. It only had 12,000 miles and the dealer gave me $36,000. So your Jeep may be at a bit less being a 2011. I tried to get more like $37,000 but the dealer would not budge. I felt that $36,000 was a fair price anyway so I went with it.

Instead of starting a new thread: I'm going to hi-jack this old one.

Trade-in advice on a 2012 Overland V8 with 30K miles. Dealer offered $26K; says that's what he can get it for at auction. It's lower than NADA and KBB. (With tech package and pano-roof)

I'll be going to Carmax to see what they offer in the next week or so.

How quickly do you need the cash? Carmax gives you a bank draft and some banks and credit unions will put a hold on it for 3 to 14 days depending the customer.

I am trying to find out if this is a good deal? Trading in for a new car.

Re: Trade In Advice

The dealers around here use NADA pricing so when I went to trade in my '11 Overland V8 I went to nada.com and got the trade in ranges so I had some form of reference for knowing what my trade was worth.

then I had an email from the dealer offering 120% above trade due to "high demand for my vehicle" so I brought that with me to the negotiations. That got me to 30k trade in and from there I was able to negotiate up to 33,500k.

When everything was said and done, the dealer ended up adding the MaxCare warranty at zero cost to me but increased my trade in the same amount to cover it. so I ended up at 33,500 + MaxCare Warranty for my '11 Overland V8 with 23k miles on it.

How can you talk about trade in value without having the final price (with config/options of new vehicle) for context????

If you get 36K trade in on a '12 summit and pay 56K for a '14 summit then we'll have a point of reference.

Obviously, the more you pay, the more they'll give you for your trade...

I traded my 12 overland hemi with 19K miles last week. I was given $33500.

This is in Denver where you would assume demand is high and you should get top dollar. NOT.

I didn't care though as I was sick and tired of sitting inside the Jeep service center for stupid ****.

Not a trade in point of reference, but I can give a purchase reference.

I bought a 2013 JGC Overland for just under $34k last week. V8, advanced tech group.

That is what dictates trade in pricing. Look what they are selling for before you go to the dealer, this will get you a starting point.
