2014 Grand Cherokee Limited Electronics Problem
Started my brand new GC with 600 miles on it and the dashboard lit up like a christmas tree. Every warning light was on. None of the gauges worked (speedo, rpm etc.) Shut it off and re-started with no change. Thankfully the tranny still worked and I was able to get home. Let it sit for about 20 mins and came back out to re-start. Everything was working again. Only the check engine light remained on. Dumped it off at the dealer the next day. Chrysler says the ABS module is not communicating with the computer and they don't know why. 1 1/2 weeks later still no resolution. Why the ABS not talking to the computer takes out the entire instrument cluster and backup sensors is beyond me. $43K garage queen. I always buy American and this is my first and last Chrysler product. I really thought they were turning it around. Judging from this forum alone it looks like I can expect a lot of problems. I'm also unhappy with the eco mode on the tranny. Runs like crap with that on. First thing I do is turn that off. I wish I could set the default to off. Useless.

Skipper - I had the same thing happen to my 2014 GC Limited this past weekend. I'm taking it into the dealer tomorrow.

Others have had this same issue. Look for the post about "lighting up like a Christmas tree"

Limited eh? ABS module and christmas tree sound common to many threads. Did the dealer check for bad gounds ?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited Electronics Problem

The dealer said they found no mechanical problems with the car so I can only assume that would mean the wiring was good and no fried circuit boards etc. The dealer called me this afternoon saying Chrysler still doesn't know what is actually wrong but they are aware of the problem and sent new code to be uploaded. Still waiting to hear back on that. I'm not expecting success.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited Electronics Problem
At 700 miles, and 500 miles way from home on vacation, I had the same problem on my 2014 JGC Limited w Lux Pkg II: Check Engine Light; Red Brake Light; Air Bag Light; Traction Control Light; ABS Light. Speedometer and Odometer did not work . UConnect also gave false message that it could not be accessed while moving. I was not moving. The dealer gave us two pages of codes and replaced the ABS Module. Was stuck for two days while part was ordered and jeep repaired. After repair, experienced a one time strange event w the overall avg MPG falling rapidly to 5, then rapidly increasing to teens. Also UConnect giving false messages re: phone. Satellite Radio cutting out for unknown reason plus there was very heavy condensation inside headlights during rain ( didn't think to look at tail lights). Once home, the local dealer spent two hours rechecking. They gave a clean bill of health......except for condensation in lights. I am supposed to bring back when it's raining :-). Also have talked to a dear family friend, a Chrysler/Jeep mechanic. After reviewing our codes, he is confident the jeep is fixed. Our codes: U0416, P1C4E, U1417, U1418, U1412, U1412-00, C0020-01, C2200-49, C0044-62, C121C-00, U0415-00, U1110-00, U0415-00, U0422-00, U0418-00. I am contacting Jeep Corporate personally. Suggest you consider same. There are too many of us!

So sorry you have that issue. So do I! Picked up my 2014 GC overland and this morning everything lit up light a Christmas tree. Let it sit and restarted and the only light left on was the check engine. Filled up with gas and that light went off. I had a half tank so I did not need to fill up. 50k truck and I can't understand why this happens. Going to dealer on Monday.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited Electronics Problem
Most of those say the CAN bus is FUBAR ("implausible xxx signal received") or there is an internal failure detected (ABS).

There are to many failures to all be correct unless the central power sysmem is having problems or something is putting garbage on the bus.

If it is fixed then wonderful but just am not certain they found (or told you what they found) the root cause.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited Electronics Problem
Padgett, your input is greatly appreciated. Thank you! Soooo hoping that since the only "detailed" "FAILURE" code was the ABS, that we will be ok. Dread the thought of experiences such as AMC2002 and others :-/

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited Electronics Problem
Ugh, I hate hearing this stuff. I had similar issues. So far, through 4 visits to the dealer, they replaced an ABS module, a catalytic converter, and 2 oxygen sensors, and now it is in the shop without a game plan on what to try to fix next....

These issues are starting to pile up

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited Electronics Problem
The number of people all reporting the same thing certainly sounds odd. Perhaps I should go to my dealer and look under the hood of a '14, wonder if some cost saving is going on in the wiring.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited Electronics Problem
Skipper et al,

Took our GC into dealer last week on the "Christmas tree instrument cluster" issue. Originally was told they were going to completely reprogram the computer and they would need it all day. I later found out Chrysler Star Center told them not do that, but instead to check all of the ground connections and tighten as necessary. We have not had a repeat of symptoms since our first event, which had all cleared by the time dealer looked at it, do I can't report on whether tightening the connections made any difference.

Sounds like multiple fixes being tried for this issue, which makes me curious about which ones are being tried independently by the dealers without consulting Chrysler, or whether different personnel within Chrysler are prescribing these treatments. Almost like throwing something against the wall to see what sticks.
