2014 GC Summit Fender Flares

I've noticed that the bottom front of both rear flares are not tight against the body. I worry that when I eventually take it to a car wash (inevitable during a winter in Chicago) that it could cause damage if one of the brushes (whatever they're called) got caught in the gap.

Curious if anyone else has seen this with their Summit.

Thanks

I have had no problems with the cloth car wash(es).

Find a touchless? I refuse to go through car washes with brushes with any sort.

I just got mine. Manufacturered in march. The fender flares fromo the back are sticking out. The adhesive used is not sticking. The dealer wants to re order new ones but is unable to do so because there is no part number for the flares yet in the system.
Can someone please let me know, if that happened to you the Chrysler part number?
Thank you,

My fender flares are comning off on the driver side front and rear. I just called the dealer and they advised that I'm the first one (my reply was, I'm always the first for any problem, until I search the net and find others). I have an appt on Fri, Jan 03. They said that they just remove and reinstall with new double sided tape. I can't imagine I won't have the same problem down the road. We'll see...

Not bad for a $52K sticker, double sided tape holding the car together...

6 figure cars also use double sided tape.

Sorry this happened to you, but 3m double sided tape has been an industry standard for over a decade.

Sounds like you got some contaminant on the drivers side before the tape was installed. As long as they properly prep with alcohol, you'll be fine.

Thks for the reply.

Noted -> "6 figure cars also use double sided tape." I'm curious, do you work for Jeep/Chrysler in ANY capacity (even via a 3rd party)? Pls advise which 6 figure cars use double sided tape, and pls specify the exact application/location on those cars where double sided tape is used in an EXTERIOR application. If you make such a statement, I assume you know the exact details/replies to those simple questions, and can reply as quickly as you did with the first reply. Then, I'd like to speak to those manufacturers to confirm.

Noted -> "Sounds like you got some contaminant on the drivers side before the tape was installed." Did all of the other people having the same problem also have "some contaminant" on their cars?

Noted -> "As long as they properly prep with alcohol, you'll be fine." I hope you are correct.

Appreciate your reply.

I recognize you're torqued about this and these things are frustrating but you're being a bit of a Richard here and whats worse, to someone who is both right and trying to help you. Go here to learn more about 3M dual sided foam tape. Click around enough and you will find where it is used and by which OEM automakers. Typical Applications

You were wrong and you owe the man an apology.

Thks for your reply.

Noted -> "...you're being a bit of a Richard here.." Not sure what that means (nor do I care), but obviously it's some type of pejorative term in your eyes. Sorry, but I don't engage in name calling or childish behavior.

Noted -> "Click around enough and you will find where it is used and by which OEM automakers." Sorry, but I don't have time to "click around enough". I just assumed that someone who makes such a quick statement like "6 figure cars also use double sided tape" would have a specific application in mind that they could point out to me.

Noted -> "You were wrong and you owe the man an apology." I was wrong and should apologize for asking legitimate questions? If not for asking legitimate questions, what are forums for? One of the biggest problems with the internet is that you never know who's on the other side replying. Thus, my questions were logical and legitimate. It's sad that you became so defensive and feel the need to attack and bully me because I asked a couple of rational, logical and legitimate questions. Fortunately, other members in this forum are more adult like and professional and can offer more productive replies than your tirade.

You were being rude and if want to be spoon fed you need to hire someone to do it. You also need to be asking yourself why it is you think your time is too important to use on seeking the knowledge which you lack but others should waste their valuable time giving it to you.

Lastly, grow up. No one was attacking you. You were wrong. You have been given enough information to find out exactly how wrong. Avail yourself of it because I don't have time to spoon feed people information on a product thats been in wide spread use both in interior and exterior automotive applications for 30 years. While you're there I recommend you also learn why such products can actually be superior to fasteners in some applications including the one you are having trouble with right now. Here ends the lesson.

Thks for your reply.

Noted -> "You were being rude..." Ouch... You are seriously defensive, hostile, bullying and aggressive. You need to look in the mirror before you condemn others.

Noted -> "...asking yourself why it is you think your time is too important to use on seeking the knowledge which you lack but others should waste their valuable time giving it to you. " I spent the time "seeking the knowledge". Someone was nice enough to provide their reply/opinion. I asked a couple of questions to substantiate their opinion. Then, YOU came aboard and started attacking me. I guess that's why you call yourself "crabman" - you're a crab.

Noted -> "...why it is you think your time is too important..." Like I previously said - "I just assumed that someone who makes such a quick statement like "6 figure cars also use double sided tape" would have a specific application in mind that they could point out to me." Therefore, it shouldn't be wasting anyone's time.

Noted -> "No one was attacking you." A cyberbully's infamous defense.

Noted -> "You were wrong. You have been given enough information to find out exactly how wrong." You being unnecessarily aggressive and calling people names does not demonstrate how OTHERS are wrong. It simply demonstrates how YOU are wrong.
