'14 Overland - Demo Pricing??

My local dealer has a '14 Overland w/Hemi that the GM has been using as a demo. He's had it for about 3 months and put about 3,500 miles on it. The sales guy said the sticker is $51,876 but the GM is only willing to take $750 off, and he was pretty firm with that discount. I think thats a bit insulting for having 3,500 miles that i'll instantly lose from the warranty, let alone depreciation.

I'm eligible for the Chrysler Affiliate rewards and also got a $500 coupon offer from Jeep. What would you do in this case? Wait for one on order?

We looked at an absolutely loaded '13 Summit w/Hemi that was also being used as a manager's "demo" (a.k.a. personal ride) before we bought our '14. It had less miles on it (~2,000) and was discounted A LOT more - about $8K (from $52K down to $44K). I don't think this one is much of a deal.

$750 seems too low. Ask them to include the Lifetime Warranty

what options?

go to jeep.com and build it like it's optioned. What MSRP does it come out to?

2% under invoice is a good deal on a brand new one...some here have gotten 6. It is insulting. He's trying to take you for a ride with $750 off MSRP.

But...these are in high demand. If you recognize it as a bad deal, which it is, and pass on it...he'll probably sell it next week for $750 off MSRP.

The affiliate program automatically entitles you to 1% off factory invoice (not sticker, which is much higher). On a new vehicle, with no miles on it, you should be getting it for much less than sticker.

Why in the world would you pay sticker minus $750 for a used vehicle? Don't do it, you are getting fleeced.

Run away from that offer...just order a new one the way you want it.

I probably would have jumped on the offer if he would have given me at least $4k off, plus my incentives.

Being that they are in high demand and they only have 3 left at their dealership for the next several weeks, he probably would get away with selling it for $750 off.

I'm going to stick to ordering a new one. I was just wondering if there was an industry standard for offering/buying a demo vehicle for a certain % below invoice

If he only wants to take 750 off a 2014 demo with 3500 miles on it...run don't walk away 750 isn't enough to put up with that many miles and all those demo dealer farts he and his family let loose in those leather seats. Go get a deal on a brand new one and smell your own propane in the seats not someone else's.

Now that's a downside of a used car I never thought of. Glad the guy who bought my old car yesterday with 96,000 miles didn't worry about fpm (flatulence per mile) :)

you can get a brand new one with no miles on it cheaper than that lol I once delt with a dealership in nj that thought there demo was better than a brand new truck because the owner drove it lol.... they wanted to charge me msrp.... it sounds like u are dealing with a similar style dealership....go elsewhere lol

Go with the affiliate deal, quick and easy no hassle 1% below invoice which is a few grand off sticker.

You should be able to get well under invoice for a demo. I got my 2014 Overland brand new (3 miles on the odometer) for about 2% under invoice. I started with the lowest price I got from TrueCar.com and negotiated down from there. The price from TrueCar was a little bit below invoice.
