Sunroof Not closing on drivers side
Alright guys, not the typical sunroof out of calibration problem. Tonight my wife had the sunroof vented and then went to close it with a stick from a tree stuck in it. Neither of us first saw it until I heard what I can only describe it as a gear skipping a tooth. Seem like it only skipped one. So now while one side is nice and flush, the other is 1/3 inch higher....and letting in water.
Has anyone ever been able to adjust the cable. I already tried removing the sunroof motor to see if it was under tension, it was not, The adjustment are maxed on the glass itself. I'm at the point of trying to drop the whole assembly to see what I can do. Anyone ever had this problem and solved it?
Re: Sunroof Not closing on drivers side
So I figured it out for myself. What a pain! After having the headliner and whole assembly out I found that there is a track the glass itself rides on. Hard to explain but basically the glass is the train track and there is a piece below that moves to vent and pull back. Well when the stick got in the way it cause the track to snap and it jump off it now riding on top. I was able to reset it and it working ok now, however I don't think it would take much to happen again.
