Headlight condensation returned after 2 months

2 Attachment(s)
2014 JGC Limited with the Lux II package - hence the HID headlights

Like everyone else I had headlight condensation when I purchased the car. Now is back. What now?

Has anyone found a DIY solution to this? A headlight replacement will likely be very hard to impose on the dealer...and I will get another bad product back.

Does this occur while you are driving, or when the vehicle is parked? If you drive a bit with the lights on does it clear up?

I'm wondering if it came back after 2 months is because of extremely high humidity. I took the cover off the tablesaw in my garage the other day. For the second time in 8 years, within seconds the cast iron top was covered with condensation. I know it's not exactly the same thing, but moisture in the air in many parts of the country has been extreme this year.

I don't have my Jeep quite yet so I have not seen the back of the headlight assy. first hand, but I am curious if there is any possibility of shoving a desiccant pack in there? Thinking an area behind the reflectors that will get warm enough to "recharge" the desiccant when the lights are on but not too hot to melt anything.

That might be enough to absorb the excess moisture to the point where they don't fog up.

Just thinking out loud.

It rained last night, it is true and the RH% was high. But why will happen next winter when the humidity is high (snow) and then it drops below freezing?

The same thing that happens to a windshield ... frost. Then the heat of the lights will melt and dry it.
