First electronic glitches

Well, I guess it was only a matter of time, but I encountered my first glitches this evening. Started my Jeep in the garage, and after the Uconnect screen went to the radio, I put it in reverse, and no back-up camera display. It stayed on the radio screen. Backed up about ten feet, and still no change. Put it in park for a few seconds, and then back into reverse, and the back-up camera screen came on. Made a number of stops and back-up camera worked as usual. Will keep an eye on that for now.
After two more stops, one for dinner, started Jeep, and no speedometer screen, completely black, and gauges didn't move. Shut it down, opened and closed door, restarted, and still no speedo display or gauge movement. Drove about five miles like this and parked for about fifteen minutes. Restarted the Jeep and all was back to normal. Made a few more stops and all is still working normally. Will keep an eye on this too.
Running the Uconnect 13.19 update since 6-25. These are the first such problems I've encountered since my vehicle was delivered 4-13, almost 2,000 miles. I won't bother with the dealer now, but will mention this to him when I take it in for my first service, unless it keeps recurring.

This is one of those times I have to say, sorry to welcome you to the club. :(

Hopefully all will be OK in the morning.

I've heard the explanations/excuses/empathy...

Why does it seem like so many of us are just accepting the new uconnect for being so glitchy?

Why are we willing to wait for the next service on our vehicle?

Why did I get a "lecture" because i put the words lemon and law into my reply?

I'm sure we all work hard for our money and therefore our trucks so why are we not taking chrysler to task on this?

They should take full responsibility for their faulty product. You, I and others shouldnt have to deal with this.

I'm sorry if I am venting... I wish more of you were more pissed off, or all of us were happy and truely proud of the product we drive.

To clarify: I am not directing my anger toward you or anyone on this thread, just Jeep/Uconnect.

You are on a registered Radio right Jacko? Might be App Havoc... Not that this is an excuse because it shouldn't happen this way. It would be interesting to see what does happen tomorrow (and maybe not first thing but later on). I am interested though, I am away most of Tomorrow and Tuesday but please PM me with what happens.

We would all like everything perfect. But being pissed won't get things fixed any faster. If you think that there isn't a team working on the issues you are naive. Thinking that everybody should be pissed is immature. Getting worked up over something hurts you and helps nobody. Nothing wrong with ranting once in awhile. Doing it at every opportunity doesn't help the situation.

I 2nd that Bill, I've had my share of gremlins in the radio here or there. 95% of the time it works as it should. I will mention it Tuesday when I are it in for an Oil change Nd tire rotation/ balance. Does it suck, ya but getting completely pissed about it and ranting isn't going to do anything. Posting every chance you get to just to rant gets annoying and really makes some people not wanting to come back just to see they same rants in different posts. UConnect is working on the issues, they aren't giving up since there are quite a few manufactures running this system. If it is that bad then take it back and demand a replacement or to fix it, plan and simple.

Re: First electronic glitches

Personally, I don't like having problems, but it is what it is, and it's a pretty new technology. Having been involved in the computer world, in one way or another, since the late 60's, I'm used to these kinds of glitches, and only too happy to be part of the solution anyway I can. So rather than rant about my problems, I prefer to pass along any information I can to those who are working on answers. By the way, went on a few errands this morning, and everything was working fine. Is it perfect? Don't know. But I'll keep the folks here working on the problems updated. Also, I've never once regretted my purchase, and I'm still lovin' my Jeep. :D

2014 JGC Summit:

Took delivery on May 3rd. About 2 weeks later started to have trouble with settings changing on their own and climate control would not work properly with remote start. In the mean time I must have checked some on-line questionnaire after delivery that said I wanted more info on U Connect. I got a call from a very nice rep who told me that some glitches will work themselves out. Towards the end of May the screen went completely blank and then came back on. Ever since then everything is working perfectly. Recently went to the dealership to have a piece of interior vinyl replaced that was damaged from factory or during dealer prep.

Service guy wrote it up during that visit and tech wrote all settings were cycled numerous times and were performing properly. Climate control performing properly in remote start mode.

No further issues to date.

Glad to hear your problems are resolved. Hope this is common with these types of issues.

Re: First electronic glitches

A while back GM was having trouble with their system and there was an article in the paper saying that there was going to be class action law suits and the like. All those problems/glitches were rectified and you do now hear anything more about it.
