Need your help brakes...

I have a Jeep TJ Rubicon with discs all around.

About 200 miles ago I replaced discs and pads and all working well.

My rear drivers side seems to be binding...not getting red hot but too hot to touch the wheel.

How would you Guys go about diagnosing whats going on and fix it?

( could it be e. brake?)

Thanks!

Two things I would look at.

Is the parking brake fully released?
Is the piston in the caliper binding?

Thanks Bill...I think the caliper is binding. Everything was new about 200 miles ago. I'll check tomorrow.

IF parking brake causing this wouldn't both sides be hot?

Thanks again.

Typically the parking brake would affect both sides, but a cable running to one side or the other could be binding on something.

Also have a look at the caliper sliding pins for lubrication. This is a regular maintenance item which many people forget to perform. The pins can become dry and/or start corroding, which will prevent the caliper from releasing sufficiently after braking.
