uneven weather strips around windows

has anyone had issues with the rubber weather strips along the outside of the windows?

I noticed that along my windows, the strips are inconsistent, some are tucked into the window and some are flipped out.

is this common?

I dropped my truck off at the dealer to have my leaking sunroof looked at and let them know...I'm curious to know if they'll do anything.

I noticed the same thing yesterday. 3 of 4 windows were flipped out. i flipped all of them in and will see if they stay.

i tried flipping them in, but due to being in the flipped out position so long, it didn't sit inside the molding. and it just looked uneven, I'm hoping they simply replace them and install them correctly.

not a huge issue, but just another thing to deal with...

Had the same issue, but only in a few spots. Tucked them in and let it sit in the sun. That was over a month ago, and they're still fine.

Same here...mostly on the rear doors. Tucked them in and they've been fine.

dropped truck off at the dealer yesterday to have the sunroof leak, weather strips and uconnect update done.

dropped the truck at 7:30am, picked it up at 5:30pm.

service rep says they worked on the sunroof and replaced the seals, weather strips will be ordered and didn't have time to update the uconnect...that they were still working on it, I called at 2:30 and they were supposedly working on the update then. so I ask if they seriously have been updating for 3 hours and he says it does and that he needed another hour to complete it. What a ****ing joke.

I said forget it, I'll come back another day.

I get in the truck and take a look at the work order. Tech writes: No leaks in sunroof, can not replicate. Weather strips tucked in. Uconnect update not done, customer will come back.

So WTF!! I call the dealership back and speak to the same guy, he claims that I shouldn't mind the comments, that the work was done.

Stay away from Manhattan Jeep. I've had nothing but horrible service from them.

edit to clarify:
they didn't close out the work order, because I said I'd come back to have update done. the work order I was referring to was the original copy and it was left in the car by the tech. and it's the inconsistent information that I'm being told that is frustrating, along with the fact that none of my issues can ever be replicated once at the dealership.

NJ, sorry to hear you're having issues with your Jeep. I know that s@cks. Where is your sunroof leaking from? Clogged drains? You don't have a signature, what year and model do you have? I have a brand new 2014 Limited I just got 2 weeks ago and have a sunroof. I'm hoping I don't come across any leak issues. Thanks.

'14 limited

I have the pano roof and after some rain I noticed a few drops of water on the sunglasses holder. I did some research and found that others had similar issues and it was a result of a leaky sunroof. I asked the service rep multiple times what the issue was and how it was resolved...he obviously wasn't knowledgeable enough to know. so I don't actually know what the issue was and if it was resolved. He claimed seals were replaced, I mentioend others have had to adjust the sunroof, he then said that "oh yea, that was done too"...meanwhile, techs note state no leak was found and that the drains were cleared.

given the issue is intermittent I have no way of knowing whether anything was done or if something was done to resolve the issue.

I've noticed this on mine too. Tried fixing a couple areas but they come out again. I'm going to have the dealer fix it since i was told there was a recall for a noise in the steering column when i took it in for an oil change.

I would expect the weather strips to be perfect on a $46k truck.

Same issue here. Some were uneven, tucked in/ not tucked in. The outside bend around the passenger door window on one side is all jacked up looking. Not nearly as uniform as my mazda cx-9. Not to mention scratches on some of the chrome molding pieces

all of this makes me wonder what the quality control inspection involves?

It would have been so much nicer if the car company put a little attention to detail in this aspect of the business. and if that was too much, maybe in the level of service for the consumers that did notice it and brought it back.

ok, I'm done whining....
