Anyone experience a Chicago winter with a 180 Thermostat?

Or in another cold winter area...

I just don't want to make a bad choice.
Most seem to think this is a good mod.. Any regrets?

Before tune or after?

Thanks,
-Ryan

I went through a KY winter...kinda mild last winter though. I didn't even drive it in snow.....

Had 0 problems though.

I cant speak for my SRT. But I had a 180 thermostat on a 2002 trans am ws6 and I had some issues with it. Obviously we are talking about different technology now so I dont think you'd have a problem but its not something I would personally do to MY truck.

My SRT is my daily. Have had a 180 since just about when I bought the Jeep brand new almost 4 years ago. No problems here in Manhattan winters. :)

For $40, turning four bolts and spilling some coolant, give it a shot. Easy enough to flip it back.

Yea, New tech I put a 180* stat in my WJ with a mechanical fan clutch. BAD IDEA.

The SRT has all electric fans no belt driven that constantly cooling. Should be no issues.
