few question about 4.7 wk

i drive a 2005 4.7 v8 wk
i have a cold air intake but it seems to always be warm/hot
debating on up grading to k and n..Already have the stock box thing out

not that mechanically inclined so i apologize in advance :)

also want to upgrade plugs wire etc thats a given though.
any certain types brands that work very well respond better what ever that case?

looking into also forging the internals and gettin my engine ported and polished
this being i would love to either super charge or turbo charge have been reading a few topics on here and seems keep comming to the same decision what would be better?

and a fast question about the esp system..
could be a 95 degree day cruising to work hit 65 mph and it kicks on and wont let me accelerate turn it off and boom runs fine side note this just started happening about a month ago

any information would be awesome thank in advance for the information and help!

Re: few question about 4.7 wk

stick with stock copper core champion plugs and there are no wires on the 4.7. why would you want to waste that money on the engine of a slug of a vehicle that has no value? use that money on a better vehicle imo

Svenska> Trying to understand your reply. Are you saying that the 4.7L WK is a slug and not to waste any money on it?

heck even a 3.7 isn't as much of a slug as one would think, ive clock 130mph in mine

I think what Swede is saying is, you've got almost 5000 lbs. (without you in it) of iron you're hauling around, and it would take a ton of $$$ to make it move repectfully. Over the past (almost) 4 years, I've sunk ~$4000 in mine with a 5.7 and, while it's much better than stock, it's still doesn't set the world on fire....but it is much more fun to drive. Now, if you go get an early model SRT-8 (stock they're faster/lighter than the newer ones) and sink an additional $20K or so into it, you can have a 10 second quarter mile ride. Just isn't worth it, IMO, especially if it's a daily driver like mine.

Yep, for the amount of money you are planning on wasting on it you can get a used srt

4.7 isn't a fast ride, a nice cruiser tho, tows decent. Spent 3000 and have it looking nice, sounding nice and going decent speed. It's my daily driver for Canadian winters as well. Speed lol that's what the m3 is for :)

I wouldn't call it a waste of money either. Crack is a waste of money.

The 4.7 is very expensive to build trust me lol. I stopped building mine, sold all the parts I bought and went and got an SRT. Just makes more sense.

What year did u buy and how much did it cost?

Re: few question about 4.7 wk

I had a 99 grand cherokee but its the same motor. I was about $2000 into the motor and decided to quit because the motor alone would have cost more than I paid for the car. Not worth it.

I was curious about the srt. If I didn't have a coupe already id get a srt but happy wit this as a daily driver
