Just received my new exhaust components.

I just received my magnaflow 11386 2.25 dual in dual out muffler, and 4.5 inch resonated stainless steel tips. I still need to order my x pipe and then it will be off to the exhaust shop to get the stock muffler cut off and the new goodies welded on. Hoping for good results. I will try to get a video up with the results.

Re: Just received my new exhaust components.

I could be wrong but I think that if the exhaust "mixes" in the duel in-out muffler, you won't need the x pipe.

Sounds like a good plan. Hope it sounds good for you.

Oh wow I didn't even think of that. Maybe someone can chime in with some knowledge on this and save me $90 from buying an x pipe. Thanks guys.

Just had a chance to read some more details on the muffler and it looks like it's a straight through design. Hoping to get the x pipe ordered up next week. I will report back once I get the installation done.

Re: Just received my new exhaust components.

Hey, just google "magnaflow 11386 internal view" and check out a couple of the forums that come up. The 11386 basically IS an x-pipe. Someone even refers to it as a "resonated x pipe".

Re: Just received my new exhaust components.

Rush you are 100% correct. I jumped the gun, been reading different forums all morning and it does in fact sound like it has a built in x pipe. It just threw me off when I checked out magnaflows site and it did not mention it like it does for part #12468 which is the same muffler just longer. Thanks Rush for the information. This will save me $90-100 not having to buy an x pipe

Taking the jeep to the shop tomorrow to hopefully have the muffler and tips welded on. I'll try to do a before and after. Stay tuned, hope it sounds good.

Re: Just received my new exhaust components.

Thanks man, I'm pretty happy with the sound. It's a little aggressive and may have been happier with the 18" muffler but I don't think they would have been able to make that one fit. The exhaust shop had a hell of a time bending pipe and making it work but they made it work.

Re: Just received my new exhaust components.

Just to be sure: You removed the factory suitcase muff AND the factory resonators at the rear and replaced them with the Flowmaster muff and tips. Right? Reason I'm asking is I need to hire an exhaust specialty shop to "FIX" my messy exhaust system(you've probably seen my thread). I want to keep my Flowmaster DBXs, get new pipes, and probably replace the resonators with tips.
