Hello, my first post and i need your help.

So i was going over a river on my Grand Cherokee 5.7Lhemi limited, when i was about half way through my jeep choked on the water. We pulled him out of there and straight to a garage. There were about 4-5 liters of water inside the engine:eek: but they are going to open up the engine tomorrow to see how bad it is, so hopefully it's not that bad. But if it is as bad as it can be, like a broken connection rod that has ruined something inside the engine what is the best rebuild i can do? should i just buy stock parts or buy something that's better and build up a better engine than that i had before? And if I do so, what parts should i buy and from who, I live in Iceland so it has to have international shipping:p

Here's a picture of my jeep in the river and a few more just for fun http://imgur.com/a/WCrr7

First, welcome to the forum. Sorry it's starting out this way though.

I would say it depends on what your ultimate goal(s) are for your ride. If you're planning to make a high powered racer out of it, definitely go bigger bore, heads, and all forged components. If you're going after a little more power, just add a bunch of stock 6.1 stuff, most of which is forged. If you're going to continue fording rivers, get a good snorkel air intake first, and maybe still add a few 6.1 parts. Otherwise, stock will probably be much less $$$.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. If that is a picture of you on the roof, you seem to be taking it very well. It looks like Jeeps are put through their paces over there.

On the plus side, some of the pictures do indicate that your Jeep was in need of a good washing. :)

Best of luck with the repairs.

Yeah thanks. Yes it's me in the picture, i think i blew fuse in my brain and just went a little bit insane for a moment instead of getting mad hehe. And yes Iceland takes those jeeps to the limits and they work amazingly in the snow.

Yes, hmm it turned out that 3 out of 8 pistons and connection rods were bent, nothing else wrong.
