Unwanted dual climate trouble

2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

My climate control system is basic, no dual climate anything fancy. When I turn on my A/C it could freeze an Eskimo on the driver side; the problem occurs on the passenger side where it blows air equally has hard but not cold.

Thoughts?

You are low on freon. Beware, as this happened to me:

So mine was doing the exact same thing and the internet told me its the doors inside the dash but its very rare on a WK. Took it to a shop and $60 later it was refilled. I had 1/3 the amount of freon. Everything worked peachy.

Fast forward two days later. My Jeep has 107,XXX on it with its original A/C compressor. I was driving and suddenly the truck slammed into 3rd gear and I had it towed to AAMCO. They said one of the fuses in the transfer case had blown and stangely my A/C system is tied into this as well causing the fault. The truck went into get you home mode and stayed in third. They traced it to the compressor, which took a dump on me and all of this grand total ran me about a grand to get it back on the road with A/C working. The conclucsion was the compressor was old and tired and having to suddenly pump a lot more freon killed it causing a chain reaction.

So, long story short; If your compressor is old and tired and you put it under stress full of freon it might let go. Get your compressor checked before you proceed with getting more freon.

Hoped I saved you a bunch of $ you owe me.

low charge, air flow reastriction across a portion of the evaperator, I have seen a faulty expansion valve cause an identical concern in a WJ. It could be a number of things.

Just know the A/C system is sealed, if you are low, there IS a leak. Dont use sealers either, they are bad news.
