Moabs on 05 Wk
I want to put moabs on my 05 Wk rocky mtn edition if I get the spidertrax spacers do I have to put a lift on? And if I don't whats the biggest size tire I can run on it without the lift. Also is the rough country 2" budget lift worth it if I were to lift it..?

Re: Moabs on 05 Wk
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but the rims should fit if you clean the caliper bracket up or run at least a 1/4" spacer. No lift required for just the rims. I believe I read somewhere you can fit 245/75 on it without a lift. I can't speak for the rough country lift but daystar also makes a budget lift that seems to be pretty popular.

I just realized how exspensive spidertrax are I stollen be to buy moabs and then open country at 2's and then another 200$ on spacers dang pricey adventure

If I run moabs with the 1.5" spacer what's the thickest tire I can run?

I have 265/70 17"s on MOAB"s with 1 inch BORA spacers on my 08. No lift, but the front tires did rub slightly when taking turns.

I found a great deal on a brand new set on 18" moabs the tires have less than 100 miles on them for 275$ what mods would I have to do to make these work?

WKFish 07-22-2013 06:34 AM

Picked a set of 5 up the guy didn't know what he was talking about they were 18" sahara's which explains alot of why he said 18" I got they for 250$ and they are like brand new. What's the biggest all seasons all terrain tire I can put on these? I don't really want to put a lift on right away but I am willing to do spidertrax 1.5" spacers so if you know anything about this please let me know!'

I have 4 Spidertrax 1.5" spacers gathering dust in my garage you can have for $100 plus shipping. (I replaced with 1.25" Spidertrax for a better fit for my application.)

I'm guessing these are the wk version I mean you wouldn't suggest selling them to me if they weren't but thought I should clear it with you first haha I'm interested

RedRocker 07-22-2013 12:48 PM

Yes, they are the WK version.

WKFish 07-22-2013 01:02 PM

How old are they and what kind if abuse have they been through? Also post some pics please! I'm interested

They are billet aluminum, I'm not sure how you could possibly destroy them! The post threads and securing nuts are all fine (no stripped threads).

They probably have 5-10k miles on them. Used for 3 wheeling seasons; not used in winter, so shouldn't have seen any of the mag chloride used to clear ice in Colorado. Will try to get pics soon.
