2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Towing Tips
I've searched and searched, so forgive me if this is addressed in another forum or thread.
I have a 2014 Cherokee Summit 4x2, 5.7L HEMI with the Class IV Tow Package. My old Cherokee Limited 4x2 (2011) had a "Tow" button, this one does not. There is very little information in the user manual regarding towing in general.
I recently towed a large uHaul trailer without issues. My "thought" was to keep it in "Sport Mode" to keep load off of the transmission. I also monitored the transmission temp in the EVIC. The transmission temp really didn't vary much, almost as if I wasn't towing! Of course, the load wasn't heavy (just furniture).
Is there anything I'm missing here that I should be doing?
Also, I've seen mention that this is pre-wired for a brake controller?
Try the GC forum if you don't get answers here. This is for the yet-to-be-released new Cherokee
