deposit when ordering?

What is the expectation when placing an order for a New WK2. Do dealerships expect some sort of deposit? If so, how much?

Ordered a Limited this week with a $100 deposit.

Re: deposit when ordering?

I think I put down $1000 when I ordered my Overland. I probably could have talked them down on it (probably down to zero, seeing as they can't keep WK2's on the lot), but I wasn't going to be backing out of the deal so it didn't matter to me.

Re: deposit when ordering?

If you have a cash back credit card that you fully pay off every month put as much as they'll take on it. When I picked up my Jeep they even let me put the balance on the CC.

The dealer told me no deposit would be required as they would sell it to someone else if I decided not to take it.

Yeah,my dealer told me the same thing(we can always sell it to someone else)but then the GM expedited my order personally making sure I took delivery in time for my yearly road trip. Well as they say" the rest is history". Money talks and BS walksAttachment 27088

Thanks guys. Looks like I should expect to pay a deposit under $1,000. However it should be negotiable and in some cases not necessary.

Any other comments or experiences are welcomed.

Dealers may start asking for deposits thanks to a new memo sent out from chryco/srt. It seems many dealers are placing "Sold" orders with ficticious buyers in order to get Jeep SRT's. The memo now says the dealer must sell the SRT to said buyer or within a certain time frame or face penalties.

What if a seller backs out??? Dealer still face penalties?

It has to be sold in a certain time frame

Thanks Scott. Shouldn't be a big deal but it's always good to be prepared when I go order
