change spring isolators?

Getting ready to put some Bilstein 5100's on my 09 4.7.laredo. My Question is should I change out the spring isolators while changing shocks and struts. My jeep has 26K on it. How fast do those wear out?

LOL Just checking figured Id ask while I am changing the struts and shocks. I read a few posts where guys were changing them out at low miles. I bet yours were toast at 127K. Just Saying

Actually they weren't that bad visually at least but they definitely smoothed out the ride some.

Re: change spring isolators?

Hey guys, here's my first post!
I was searching the bilstein 5100 and landed here.
I put monroe coilovers on the back of my 07 WK and now I'd like to do the front. Since the front is now lower than the rear I found the 5100s look like they're height adjustable. Is the strut itself able to provide an inch or so of lift or do I need spring spacers? Seems to me if it is the lower mount on the strut that is adjustable, it ought to be able to provide the ride height I want??
Thanks for any help

I just ordered some for my 09 4.7. They adjust .75 inches to 2.00 inches in the front. Im just going to put them at the .75 or 1.00 inch setting to raise the front a bit. the rear shocks are the same as the HD's just more corrosion resistant material and silver instead of yellow. The rear say for 0 to 1.5inch lift.

Re: change spring isolators?

After measuring, I'm just going with the 4600. My intention was to move to 245/70 tires but there just isnt any clearance for the slightly larger size. 245/70s are 4/10s wider and would rub the damn arm. The 5100 would let me level out the front with my rear, but then the stock tire size will look smaller in the wheelhouse. I'm still on the fence with my monroe coilover shocks, and may take them off anyway and do 4600s in the back too. I had 4600s on my last jeep and they were great.
