100% Gasoline/No Ethanol-good or bad ?
I drove past a filling Station a few days ago and saw they were selling 100% Gas (no Ethanol). I would like to try a few tank fulls to see if their would be any difference in MPG or performance in my 2013 GC Ltd. 3.6. Does any body have any info or experience with running 100% gas, (good, bad,or whatever). You input would sure be appreciated. Thanks P.B.

100% gas i take you mean 100% petrol

For me i will never allow my vehicle to have any ethonol in it what so ever.
Ethonol is not good for an engine
Do some research

Pure GAS very good for your engine. Ethonal very bad. I wish they sold pure gas at the pumps out west. Was it 87 octane? Ethonal makes less power than gas so you should see a slight increase in mpg with pure gas.

Re: 100% Gasoline/No Ethanol-good or bad ?
If I had a choice I would never use ethanol, sadly I have no choice. And with Obama's goon squad at EPA forcing 15% down our throats, things will only get worse. I do believe our warranties exclude damage caused by high ethanol, so you might have to send repair bills to the Whitehouse. Be sure to tell them you are not working, because you don't feel like it. They will pay the bill and give you a free tank of ethanol.

Excuse me, the NSA is at the door. Damn they are fast.

I'm not gonna jump on the political train that bill_de is on ;) , but I will say that when I drove my '07 WK out to Detroit in 2011 for the JNAP tour I started putting 100% gasoline in somewhere in Canada.

Made a big difference. I'd recommend it if you can get it. I can't get it here :(

Re: 100% Gasoline/No Ethanol-good or bad ?
Yes it was 87 octane. Its a new PURE station. Also had 87 octane with 10% Ethanol and 93 octane with 10% Ethanol. I looked it up yesterday on the internet and it seems the Obama tribe is trying to pass a 15% Ethanol gas. Hmmmmm........... Sure is a lot of politics involved, farmers, corn crops, etc. Seems the newer vehicles will be able to handle it but the older ones not so much.

Re: 100% Gasoline/No Ethanol-good or bad ?
Does not matter what engine builders to allow the use of ethonal in the engines
Simple fact you need more fuel to get same same power with ethonal
It also is harder on your engine and the engine will never last as long simple fact :

False ecomony

Re: 100% Gasoline/No Ethanol-good or bad ?
well, again failing miserably to avoid the political side of this issue:

"Obama" doesn't have a dog in this fight. Agricultural interests are trying to bamboozle the EPA into thinking more ethanol is a good thing. They are using the same fuzzy math that the oil interests use on the other side. Neither is speaking the plain truth.

It's a good thing we have dedicated, impartial news agencies to dig in to the details and help us sort this all out.

Oh, wait.. :(

just MHO,

Re: 100% Gasoline/No Ethanol-good or bad ?
This month we were up in WI at the Iola Car Show, and a lot of the gas stations in that area have real gas! Gassed up on the way back to IL, and although it's only a 3 1/2 drive back, our gas milage did improve around 2 MPG. Or, we had one hell of a tail wind traveling back home! - AL

Hey Guys, Thanks for all the input I really appreciate it. I now know what I'm going to do this afternoon and that is to go down to the station and fill up with 100% gasoline. Thanks again. Paul Bernard

Re: 100% Gasoline/No Ethanol-good or bad ?
Doesn't 100% gas cost more than the 10% ethanol mix? So doesn't that offset your gain in MPG? The only real gain is not having to fill up as often.

Re: 100% Gasoline/No Ethanol-good or bad ?
Once you get out of the major large cities, you may be able to find real gas, and it's normally cheaper that the 10% Ethanol.
