2014 GC Limited problems!?!

Well we've had the jeep for a few months now and have loved it, until a puddle started to appear on the garage floor! Oil seems to be leaking from the transmission, so we take it to the dealer to get diagnosed. Turns out they had to take pictures and send them to the engineers in detroit to even feign to see what was going on. Ended up replacing a gasket and sent us on our way. Took a trip from Georgia to Jacksonville and everything seemed fine. Put the peddle down to merge and it shifts super hard so I figured I'd go easy the rest of the way. We get to our destination and turns out it's still leaking so I clean everything off just to make sure it's not from before they fixed it and drove back home. Nope still same problem!? Anyone have the same problem!? Seems pretty rudicilous to me.

Sorry to hear of the troubles, but at least they will be able to see that it is still leaking. Since, they already replaced the gasket, I would be their next step may be to just replace the tranny. Hopefully, this will be a one and done warranty repair, and you can get back to enjoying the ride. If you don't like how things are going with the service, you can call Jeep Customer Care to help escalate things along. V6 or V8?

Not sure what fluid it takes as I am new with the Jeep but some Gasket applications are dry fit and others require the Use of ATF+4 sealant which requires an hour or so set up time prior to adding any fluid as per the directions, should be a straight forward job but most dealers for a job like that would likely assign it to a junior Tech. Hope they get it right next time and sorry to hear of your troubles.

Was it transmission oil or engine oil? Was the fluid red?

WHy would you think is ridiculous?
If so they might even change your entire transmission. Dont worry. It will be fixed.

It wasn't red so I'm pretty sure it's not tranny fluid. And it just sucks that there's already problems with it. I know it'll get taken care of. Thank god for warranties. Just a frustrating situation. Will be back to the dealer later this week I'm sure. Luckily no CEL and tranny was sitting around 198-200* the whole trip. And just a side note got avg on the dash at 23.1 mpg roughly going 75-80 with AC on 3-4 so not bad for the v6 and fully loaded down.

The V8/Diesel 8 speed is a sealed unit, no place to check or replace fluid for mere mortals.

Think the V6 8-speed is also sealed, too lazy to hit Allpar this close to beer thirty.

Yeah no where to check in the V6 either. Hopfully gonna get it to the dealer this week. Been driving around with Eco off which has helped the horrible shifting. But it's still leaking. Said they will have a tranny waiting for me when I arrive. Hopfully this is resolve the problem! Should I have them unhook the battery as well when they put the new one in so it does a re-learn?

Just an update. Got the tranny swapped and shifts smooth and no more leaking! And it shifts great with Eco off. Feels more responsive as well. Thank you Jasper Jeep in Georgia for the great service

Thanks for the update! Mechanical things fail... That's what warranty (and a competent dealer) is for.

That's great to hear!

Yeah I'm really surprised at how much "peppier" it drives now. It's a blast to drive. I also feel much safer and more confident in being able to pass without it downshifting feeling like it hits a wall before it gets back into the power haha
