2013 Dead - Possibly Fuel Pump
Unfortunately My 2013 WK2 SRT8 ended up on the back of a flatbed truck yesterday!! I have had a range of wheel moulding issues and the front bumper replaced due to delivery damage but with 17000km (11300 miles) no major issues.

This all ended yesterday - coming home from a business trip with cruise control set to 115km/hr (75m/hr) I gave the throttle a quick push coming up to a short sharp incline. There was a bit of a clunk then a shudder. Car kicked out of cruise control, I tried to give it a bit of gas and there was hardly any if any power - like it was running on 1 cylinder - I coasted to a stop and the car stalled. No warning lights. Car 3/4 tank of petrol, engine oil okay, filled up 250km (170miles) before problem - I initially thought bad petrol but unlikely this long after filling up.

I tried to start it again after 2 minutes - initially made the right noise and then stalled immediately. After 5 minutes I tried again - it tried to kick over and made a crappy starter motor like noise - tried to shut it down immediately by pushing the start button again - eventually it stopped maybe after 3-4 seconds - not a great noise. 150km away from home.

Got car picked up and eventually delivered to my local dealer this morning. Based on my description they initially suspected catastrophic engine failure. They have had a look at it now and say that they have kicked over the engine and it doesn't seem to be making any unusual noise - they now suspect the fuel pump - and are going to take it apart tomorrow to confirm.

I cant seem to find any other fuel pump issues - I noted one thread on a key transponder issue - don't think it is that - it wasn't a start issue. Has anyone else had any similar issues??

Lastly - some advice - if it is the fuel pump - is there likely to be any engine damage based on what I described? Car coasted for about 400 metres after initial problem and there were 3 attempted restarts. What tests should I ask that they do to confirm that there has been no damage - compression tests etc?

Thanks from Australia.....

Compression test will tell you if all is well. I don't think there should be any damage. Did you get a disposition?

Re: 2013 Dead - Possibly Fuel Pump
I got the car back after 5 days.

Thankfully all appears to be okay.

It was confirmed that it was a seized fuel pump.

All cylinders tested between 170 and 175psi.
