Camshafts

I know very little about camshafts but from the videos I've seen on Youtube I can tell you that I definitely would like to do this mod for my WK. I've seen 218 Cams, 260 Cams etc and have no idea what that means or which would be compatible with my Jeep. I wouldn't get the Cams installed until after I got my new dual side exhaust and headers put on my Jeep as I've read that that's how you get the most benefit out of your new Cams. So again, if anyone can help me out in this area it would be much appreciated.

Checked their website. Didn't see any comp cams for a 4.7L. Would the Camshaft for a 5.7L/6.1L fit in my Jeep?

sorry no. the 3.7/4.7 is an OHC (Over head cam) engine where as the hemis are cam in block with push rods. but if you have an 05-07 4.7 I have heard you could swap the cams from a 08-10 4.7 as they are a little more aggressive. but that's gonna require more mods the just the cams. you may need the cam tone gears as well if the ones you currently have don't swap to the new ones

Nich, for your 5.7 Comp. Cams makes some good ones, but the ones I installed in both my Hemi vehicles is the FRI Engineering Sidewinder cam, made by Comp. Cams. It's been around in the LX community for over 7 years and is well proven to be a reliable performer and worth about 50 hp. when used with a good set of headers and cat. back. I advanced the one in the WK 2 degrees over stock and the one in the LX I advanced it 6 degrees. Normal highway fuel economy in the WK is ~22 mpg, and normal in the LX is ~27 mpg.
