how to disengage the tire pres. sensor?

A while back I wanted to check the tire pressure on my 07 grand cherokee. I just dont fully trust the tire press. sensors... The aluminum cap was corroded on, and I snapped the end off the valve stem, leavin the pin completely exposed... long story short, they wanted $80 per senored stem, and was on vacation and in no situation to shop around. I just had them install some of the normal rubber ones... for 3 bucks a piece...

Only problem is now my tire pressure senor is going off all the time. At first It was just on. Not too annoying. Now it turns off, but then 10 minutes later turns on again with a "door ajar" dinging chime and flashes at me.... really annoying.

Any way you can turn this off or pull a fuse to stop it? I'm just worried the fuse is probably for multiple things...

I think Starscan can disable it. Even if it can it will be tough to find a place that would accept the liability.

What message are you getting in the EVIC?

Have you checked all 4 tire pressures with an accurate gauge? What are they set at?

All the tires are good for air pressure, its just because 3 of the 4 tires are rubber stems without sensors. I had to have three of the 4 done, because I could only get valve cap off with some corrosion buster

hmm, '07 should have come with plastic caps from the factory for just this reason..

ISTR there is someone either here or on jeepforum that sells a set of 4 TPMS sensors/stems for reasonable money.
