Would this bother you if it was your truck

So I took my truck to the dealer to have a few things checked out. One of them the radio, which I'm getting a new one next week. However there is one thing they are fighting me on. One of the pieces of wood trim on the inside of the truck is short and there is a gap. It's the one where the start button is at and it only bothers me because I see it every day. So if this was you, would it bother you and would you push to have it fixed?

Or for those 2014 owners, does your truck look like mine? Maybe they are like mine from factory.

If you are talking about the small vertical gap between the wood and plastic, that would not bother me in the least. I'll bet it is even within spec.

That said, if it makes you lose sleep at night, keep trying. You might get someone at Jeep to agree with you.

Just checked ours and there is no gap, nice and snug.
If we had the gap I would not bother bringing it in for repair only cuz they would probably screw something else up or scratch the truck or something.

I do have a gap where the rug and the plastic meet on the drivers side foot well, right where your feet pass over as your getting in. About 4-5 inches long and 3/16 wide. Looks like the rug was not cut wide enough there to strtch across correctly,.. I think I read here somewhere that this is a common problem. It really only bugs me when I vacuum that area.

I would be fine with the rug issue that yours has.

It just bothers me because I see it every time I start the truck. It just does not look right. The piece looks like its short. Hopefully the dealer gets it replaced or to at least get the gap to close up some.

It would bother me especially because it's an "upgraded model" and that's an "upgraded piece" for an upgraded price that you/I payed. Equally disturbing are your pics. Is that dirt and scratches all over that area? How the heck did you do that so soon?

I'm not sure where you are seeing the scratches and dirt. I don't see any of that. The part is not scratched and there is not dirt on it. Dust probably, but that is one of those things you just have to live with unless you clean the truck on a daily basis.

Maybe it's just the pic and the way the wood shows up. But I wouldn't be happy with that gap either. Just another reason to justify an base Laredo only on the next purchase. But I hope they change it for you. Premium should be premium.

It would definately bother me! 45K plus for a vehicle to have it look like it was made in some foreign asian country to be sold for less is unexcusable. I would also reach out to Chrysler CS and see where that would lead.

I am glad I do not have it, just went out and looked to see if I missed, I know I would have been mad.

Also to make things a little more instersting, my wife's RAV4 had a similar problem with the passenger door handle. I took it in and thry tried to fix it, could not, order a new door panel and was replaced looks great now. So that kind of tells you about customer service and the importance some manufacturer's put on it.
