05 Limited GC 5.7 Hemi starting problem

Curious if any one else has had starting problems with their WK? Approximately 38,000 miles on the 05 Wk Hemi with an intermittent starting problem. Acts as if the battery is dead, then it will start after hitting the ignition a half dozen or so times.

Does it turn over each time you try to start it or does it do nothing each time you try and then fires the engine?

Starter/battery will need to be replaced. I've heard of this issue a hundred times on the 2005's

I'm thinking it is a stater issue??

My bet is the starter. I had to replace mine 2 weeks after buying used. Only about $70 for the part and you can install it yourself in a few hours. Not the easiest install but if you're patient its not too bad

starter issue, i replaced mine around 60k, everyone told me it was either the alternator or the battery so i replaced the alternator, had the old one tested and it was fine, so i put it back on. It is a pain in the a*S to change the starter though, its very hard to get to.

Thanks ... I think I'll have this one done at the shop, should be covered by the warranty.

Bro,
it's bad advice to tell this guy to automatically replace his battery and starter at the same time.
It does not make any sence that a bad starter would kill a battery or that a bad battery would kill the starter. its either the battery, the starter, the solenoid but not "all at once" Thats the kind of advice the give to women and old ladies at ripoff garages

"Ya, the starter went and even though the horn and lights are good and it wont take a jump you still need a battery"

From what I am experiencing in my 2005 hemi gc the battery is fine so that rules out vthe battery and the alternator.
what "I" "do not know" IS HOW TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE between the solenoid and starter for the culprit.
I am guessing that if banking the starter with a hammer works then its def the starter...otherwise I need someone in the know the use a meter on this. i'll tell you, the starter did go two weeks after i bought this with like 37,000 on it and i replaced it and about 30000 later its gobe again wtf?

Bro, if your intended meaning is "starter "OR" battery" I apologize.

Can anyone tell me "where" to find the starter on this? Under right front end near the whell driver side?

Drivers side. Crawl underneath and you can see it above the front driveshaft. It has a heat shield around it as its pretty close to the exhaust
