Nice mate, did you dip your chrome or is it vinyl and how did you tint your rear lights.

Cheers, Rob

Re: My UK blacked out Altitude

Hey Rob, fitted the spacers you set me tonight. The Jeep looks well finished, cutting the lugs off with a hack saw was a bitch but I'm pleased with the way it looks!
OK, so I plasti dipped everything that was chrome & silver, all the badges, front grill, front lower & rear lower valance also all the chrome around the windows which was a pig to do. I had to do the rear bottom corner of the rear window where it curves in twice as it kept coming away from the chrome. In the end I peeled it all off & got it wrapped in matte black, the plasti dip just wouldn't stay on. I dunno if I didn't wait enough time between coats or I was putting it on too thick?
My lights they are all done in Lamin-x, I know a guy on another forum that can get you it cheaper than from Lamin-x them selves. PM me if you wanna contact him!
Gimme some info on the remap you did to yours?

Glad you got the spacers fitted ok, I used and angle grinder to cut the studs, I can only imagine how hard it was with a hack saw.

I had the same problem with the plasti dip, the rear window corners, I did mine twice and no matter how I did it the bloody stuff still lifted, just got a quote to have them done in matt vinyl so hopefully i'll have no more problems.

As for the tuning, I have a Bluespark tuning box, set on map 8 with 100% usage and its fast, I looked into getting a proper remap done but you need to have the ECU opened up to get it installed and i'm sure Jeep will take a dim view on this if I do need warranty work.

How hard was it wrap your rear lights, I've heard that there tricky to do with all the contours.

I'm liking the look of yours with the all black look, my Bro has the black one and I showed him yours and he's now getting his window chrome done as well, he has the red caliper covers like mine which show up nice behind the black rims.

Lamin-x is pretty easy to do, you just need to take your time. I used a hair dryer for the contours, just heat & stretch. It's the third time I've done this to a car & it seems to get easier each time. There are plenty of vids on YouTube of people fitting it for you to follow.
