Help with sub install
I have a 2012 Grand Cherokee Overland Diesel.
Now on Saturday I installed a Line output converter behind the head unit which was tapped into the front speaker wires...
now the problem is everything works fine except I have NO VOLUME control on the subwoofer like it does not sync with the HEAD UNIT volume ??
But when I control the volume on my IPHONE the sub volume follows the volume on the head unit if that works why does it not just work normally through the head unit as it should?
also I have done my research on the forums and read everything about installing a LOC as to connecting it after the amplifier I also did that and sound is very crap
as for the PAC adapter I don't really like to use them as on my last car it basically popped and almost caught on fire lol..
Thanks to everyone.:)
Re: Help with sub install
What kind/brand of LOC? Did you already have the Alpine system with OE sub? If so, you'll want to tap the OE sub signal after the OE amp -- for the high-level inputs into your LOC. If you have the Alpine system, all the sound control is done via the OE amp. This is why the PAC device sux. If you use it, it's installed between the HU and OE amp, and you lose all control over your sound (bass, treble, etc.). This is probably why you don't have control of your sub now. You'll need a good (LC2i) LOC -- which can accept high wattage inputs. I'd be scared to try a cheap $10 passive LOC.
Hi thanks for the info the brand is aepro I will upload pic once I get home but it's the 2 channel loc not a cheap one it's more of the top end one they have by that brand...
