Uconnect Voice Recognition Observation
My 2011 Grand Cherokee has the 730n RHR with the latest Uconnect updates. I've had problems with the voice recognition from day 1. In fact, I mispronounce friends names when using the voice dial feature because Uconnect doesn't understand the correct pronunciation of certain names. I only figured out how to pronounce names by having Uconnect list the names in my contacts list.
Yesterday, I had a Jeep Compass as a loner. The Compass had the Uconnect 230/REQ radio. ON a whim, I decided to connect my iPhone 4 to this device. The 230/REQ find names and announces incoming calls with the correct pronunciation.
McEuen is pronounced like m-KEW-in. 230/REQ has no problems with this. However, the 730n RHR thinks this is m-SUE-in.
Incoming calls and dialed calls using the 230/REQ work perfectly with Jim McEuen. However, the 730 expects me to say "Call JimmSUEin". Yes, I have to drag out the "mmmm" and stress the syllables exactly as Ucconnect says it or the 730n RHR can't find the name to dial.
Doesn anybody else have problems with voice commands on the 730n RHR?
