South Florida dealership...

Has anyone purchased or leased a grand cherokee from a dealership in the south Florida area and actually had a decent experience? I'm in the market for a new car and can't seem to find a dealership that even gets close to 3-5% below invoice (without rebates). They think I'm crazy for asking for such a thing. I actually got close at one dealership but then they stated playing games with the residual and interest rates so I left.

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

I'm interested too because I'll be shopping around soon. I did notice that Wallace Jeep in Stuart had some nice prices advertised on their website and you may be able to talk them down some more.

Got Mine at Arrigo Dodge in West Palm. Had to haggle a little bit, well, actually the wife did all the work. I sat back, enjoyed the show, and signed the paperwork. She even got us a full tank of gas lol. I felt they were fair and we left happy. Here's their site Arrigo Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM Dealers West Palm Beach FL | Car Dealer South Florida | New & Used Cars, Trucks, Parts, Service Boynton, Pompano, Ft Lauderdale FL

3 to 5 percent below invoice is a lot to ask. I think if you could get 2 percent below you would be doing very well. The dealer is not going to sell at a loss.

I purchased a 2012 jgc Laredo x 4x4 from dadeland dcj. Very good experience. In fact the only dealer from Tampa to Miami that worked with me on price and availability of a 4x4 Laredo (since there are so few in FL). Unfortunately the sales lady no longer works there but her associate still does.

It is the price they pay for it, but there is other ways to make money on the vehicle. There is the holdback that most dealers won't negotiate on and other incentives from the manufacture. Sometimes a dealer will sell a vehicle below cost because they are trying to hit a certain volume number for the month to get an incentive from the manufacture. I know you read about some people getting great deals on these forums and I'm sure some of them do, but I also think some of it is BS.

It would be amazing if you got 3% below "invoice" if you did not have access to some kind of rebates.
Here are some options. Find out what discounts car buying services get... like Costco, etc... Try to beat that price. Stay away from add on sales items.
Maybe you can find out what the "employee" pricing is and get close to that... that is the norm.
Shop around for an extended warranty if you are looking at that.

I got mine at Arrigo in Sawgrass. A lady named Sherry works in the Internet sales. Very nice and actually KNOWLEDGABLE (imagine a sales person who is knowledgable!). I had done the 1% below invoice Tread Lightly thing for an order in late 2010. Another dealer (hint, named below) balked at it.......didn't want to use one of their "allocations" for a $49K Summit sale....really. Arrigo Sawgrass had no problem with taking it at all. Moreover, they have a great service department. I do not know what kind of deals they are doing now, but they were straightforward to work with.

Do not go to Hollywood Jeep......argh.....what a waste of my time (old time sales games, etc.). Moreover there was some dealership north around Orlando or so that I had called and what a PIA with baiting and nonsense about vehicles they didn't even have in stock....false promises, etc.

Also, watch out for some odd large charge thing that some of the dealers try to charge that they say is a mandatory charge.....it isn't.

Best wishes....

I think you should avoid the Jeep dealer in Naples... they mark everything up and then offer a discount from "Dealer MSRP"

Galeana Jeep in Fort Myers has been decent to me. They are not "giving them away" but they do not keep inventory on the lot for long so they are pretty straight forward... again my experience and opinion.
