Re: Intermediate not starting
Welcome to the garage.
You say it acts like battery is dead, but do the headlights work?
You need to find out if only fiddling with the key is enough, or the shifter.
If its the shifter, it could be the adjustment of the shift mechanism, or the park/neutral switch. Which transmission the JK has?

Yes headlights work. It only does it sparaticly. When it does it sounds like a low battery but the battery is fine was thinking it was either the starter or parking switch. It's an automatic when it's in gear it rolls back bad too. My 01 wrangler doesn't roll back like that

Re: Intermediate not starting
I would try next time it doesnīt want to start, to put the shift lever in N. If it starts ok then, it most probably is the adjustment of the shifter cable. Donīt know the JK, so which transmission does it have (its automatic, but which type?)
When you say that it rolls back when in gear, is it on an incline? How is the idle speed of the engine?

Re: Intermediate not starting
Just for clarification, what are the symptoms your seeing that makes it "sound like a low battery"?

Starters on JK's are not uncommon, I had one fail on me right after I did some exhaust work, got it to start, warned the customer and attempted to sell a starter but they never experienced the problem so they didn't want to spend the money. They were back a week later for a starter because it left them stranded a couple times. When this starter failed it made no noise, which made me initially wonder if there was a park neutral safety switch issue or an ignition switch issue...
