Side step for 2014 Summit

Hi!

Today tried to order Mopar side step for JGC 2014 Summit but dealer tell that current line-up not fitted to Summit and SRT 2014 models...

Does anybody fit side steps for Summit 2014 already? What vendor?

Regards,

Dmitry

Black Painted sidesteps made of aluminum - 4 oval B 2011 2014 - Not for Summit & SRT - 82212130AB
Black Painted sidesteps with chrome accent C 2011 2014 - Not for Summit & SRT - 82212685AB

This area is the WK section of the site, people viewing this area only are driving up to 2010 of the Jeep Grand Cherokee... If you are talking about a 2014 that would be the WK2 section for JGC 2011-2014 up.

For a simple answer to your question, you have a Summit so why not use the Exit height on the suspension rather than step bars?

Hi Willx,

By 2x reasons :

- side step in some way limit possible damage of doors on parking place;
- the most important that side step get you more usefull usage of Roof Box.

Right I see, I know that there was never a plan to impliment them on the SRT and the Summit has similar Body Moldings... It is possible that they will release step sides at some point but you are correct, there are no Mopar options right now.

Hey. I traded in my 2011 Summit for a 2014 Summit and the dealer was able to transfers chrome side steps from my 2011 to my 2014 with no issue.

I don't understand the issue why your dealer doesn't know that. The steps I have fit the 2014.

Any chance you can take a quick pic so we can see the fitment?

Thanks in advance.

Where should I take the pic? Furthermore, I haven't been able to figure out to add pics? Can I do it via my iPhone??

OverlandSum 09-05-2013 06:43 PM

I was looking into adding photos and for some reason I don't have permissions to add photos? Who do I ask about that? I have had 2 jeeps for over 2 yrs now and would think my membership would be approved?

I am looking to add sidesteps to my summit. I prefer OEM if possible, wouldn't have managed to resolve the picture posting issue? ;-)

Re: Side step for 2014 Summit

The Summit and SRT have different front and rear fascia and where that all folds into the side of the vehicle, it presents a challenge for the side steps designed for other trim levels. That's why the OEM steps are labeled as not being compatible. You certainly could take the risk and see if they can be fitted with some effort, but the key word is "risk".
