Never fails...

Parked the brand new 4 day old Jeep in a parking lot away from everyone else. Came out for lunch and sure enough someone parked right next to me in a piece of crap 1990s mini van and sure as shit a ding on my driver side door.

How stupid are people?

Any advice on how to fix this. It is not big, but big enough to drive me crazy every time I walk up to it. UUUGGGGGHHHH!!!!

I've done the happy dance on a hood for crap like that. That's not the fix but does convey a sense of justice. :)

If the ding is creased, it may require a fill and feather with paint and clear coat. If its just a minor depression, a "dent doctor" can usually get it out. I've seen a dent doctor fix hail damage to my amazement.

It is a indented ding. Again, not huge by any means, but rough to the touch and so ugly. Really pisses me off. People suck.

The same happened to me the 1st week I had mine but on the rear passenger door. I had a local paintless dent removal guy come fix it at my house. Took him about 20 minutes. Fortunately the scratch in the middle of the dent only went into the clear coat so he removed the dent and fixed the scratch with a little clear coat. I know exactly where it is but I really have to look to see the scratch. The dent is completely gone. Cost was $200.

$200 because some idiot is not more careful when they open their doors. I am always careful even if there are more dents on the car next to me than not dents. Have some respect people.

No argument there. I'm always very careful not to hit other cars but so many people today have no respect for other's property. Starts with the parents and continues down the line.

My wife thinks I am nuts because I park "in the stratosphere"...so far out that nobody else would walk that far. I hug curbs within an inch, always park uphill from basket collection points, look for corner spots...anything to prevent dings. My Murano is 5 years old and ding free...lucky so far, I guess.

I am an ultra anal s.o.b. about my stuff. I work way too hard to have others ruin it so easily.

People are idiots, generally speaking.

Years ago I had a brand new black 1998 Z28 and I too parked it all alone in the last row at Home Depot one night. I wasn't hogging two parking spots like some jerks do. Anyway, came out to find a piece of crap Plymouth parked 14 inches away with his driver door right next to my passenger side and a big ding on my passenger door. He had deliberately parked there in an empty parking lot just to ding my door! I went apeshit on his piece of crap and banged in every panel I could get my foot into. I think he got the messsge and I went right to the dent dr.
I guess some assholes just do not want guys like us to have nice cars.
Find the local Dent Dr or Dent Medic....there should be a few around with similar names. They put dry ice on it and work it out through the window slot with special tools. It's really quite a special skill. Should cost about $50 - $75, and it will be as good as new. Good Luck!

You should have called the cops and reported it, and let the person responsible or their insurance company pay for it.

I don't know if it is something pyschological but it seems everytime you park your car away from all the other cars I subliminally summons someone to come and park along side you.

In most cases it is children who have not regards for other people property but I get extra pissed when you catch adults that act oblivious.

The other day I went to the post office parked in front of the door to the lobby and when I come out I catch one of my old High school teachers, a rather plump woman, ( no offense just stating a fact) with her car door up against my car luckily it was resting right on the chrome door moulding. Then she had the nerve to look at me when I was getting into my vehicle and shout the words " I didn't scratch it" I thought to myself ".... so that makes it okay to use my car as a @#$%'n door stop......".

I keep considering removing the chrome door mouldings and adding the SRT/Altitude styled lettering but I think that was my sign not to do so.

I don't expect my car to never get scratched or dinged but not by some willful person.

Even when I drove a beater I did not disrespect other people's cars.

No way to prove who made the dent...And I didn't want my insurance rates to go up.

If you have a reputable body shop in your area give them a call and see if they have an agreement with one of the Dent Wizard/Dent Doctor guys. I've found I've gotten top notch guys that way and I've been able to swing in while they are there so they can see the dent and determine whether they can fix it.
