Falken WildPeak AT 275/65r18

Hi all,

Was wondering if some of our US comrades could help me out!

Has anyone used the Falken WildPeak AT's before?

I'm specifically looking at getting a set of the LT275/65r18 to fit my '14 CRD Limited.

My next best option is Cooper Discoverer AT3 265/60r18, but I prefer the look and feel of a larger tire.

Any assistance would be great!

Cheers,
noons

Well I took the plunge and went for the Falkens.

I understand they are the same as Falken Rocky Mountain AT tyres over in the US?

Nothing bad to say about them. They are noiser than the Michelin's but that is to be expected as these have a rediculous amount of tread on them, and they are Light Truck construction tyres with a 10ply sidewall.

Overall, very happy so far, with 500km under their belt.

PS. I managed to fit them in the spare wheel well, but it had to be deflated. The lid pretty much closes flush - sits about 5mm up.

Hey man. I like those tires. Do they rub anywhere? I'm still trying to decide if I want to keep stock rims or if I should get new rims and wider tires.

No rubbing at all mate! Really good in wet weather too.

No rubbing at all!? Do you have spacers or only factory set up? I'm gonna get these tires this weekend if your all stock! I just installed the leveling kit on Thursday and am excited for new tires.

No rubbing mate, and fully stock. No lift or levelling kit.
Go get them, they're a good tyre!

Post a pic when you get them!

Awesome! It's still up in the air. I can get a deal on the Rocky Mountain 265/65 and I know they won't rub at all when off road. On the other hand, the 275/65 fills the wheel well up nicely. I've read a few people have had rubbing in the rear wheel well with this size. I'm not sure what would cause some to rub in the rear. Think I will go to the tire shop Monday morning and see about trying a tire in the rear and go from there. I will post pics when done... I will also be plasti dipping the grille and may take the chrome side mouldings off. Thanks for your help.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I'm after an update on these tyres. How are they traveling?

I didn't think those tires fit on stock. Does that jeep have QL?

Hey there... I ended up getting nittos. I read reviews on the peaks and a lot noticed a funky smell and discoloration. When I looked at some. I knew what they were talking about. The nittos are 265/65. I would recommend the nittos!

Thanks, I'm leaning towards the coopers, but i already have MickeyT ATZ on my current car and I find they are a bit slippery on bitumen, particularly with a bit of light rain. Maybe that is normal for ATs.

Did you go with the terras? How do you find them on the road and in the wet?

smith417 02-20-2014 10:28 PM

Yes I got the terra grapplers. Seem to be good in rain and are really good in the snow! Haven't had them in mud yet tho...
