Plasti Dipped the chrome on the tails, something doesn't look right.

I had to re-do the tinted tails as I screwed up clear coating them. The rear looked too bright with the chrome and tinted tails so I decided to try plast dip for the first time and something just doesn't look right on the back now.

I'm thinking I either need to plasti dip more of the chrome on the back (license frame, limited emblem and rear sill) or get rid of the plasti dip and either paint the chrome on the tails body color or gloss black OR tint the back up lights lightly.

Any suggestions are welcome, I've never been so confused about what to do when tinting the tails on my car.

I think you should tint the reverse lights too, and plasit dip all the chrome on the back. Looks good so far.

I think you should step away from the rattle cans. It's not a Civic. :)

I was seriously worried I was opening a thread where you had just Plasti-Dipped your taillights!

Agreed. Although anything that isn't named Plasti-Dipped can be done well, assuming it was done correctly.

Don't hate on the rattle cans! This is what I used on the tail lights.

2K clear coat: Spraymax

This was my first attempt at plasti dip. I think it looks OK, would like it to be glossy though.

Black chrome paint was suggested to me, think it might look cool.

^ Hey -- everything Mossy Oak on my truck is OE. :) I was just teasin'. Man, I wish I created Plasti-Dip in a can. I'd be a $billionaire. People are buying that stuff left and right. Now I just need Mossy Oak in a can.

Tint the reverse lights and I'd go body color on the chrome. Mine is black, but that's the way I did it and I like how it turned out.

Looks good.. i tinted mine as well and vinyl wrapped the jeep emblem. Don't forget to do the break light on the wing.

I ended up plasti dipping the rest of the chrome on the rear except the emblems to see what it would look like and I LOVE IT!

Next step will be to rip the plasti dip off and get all the chrome to a paint shop to get it done gloss black, even though as is it looks pretty good.

And of course I still need to tint the 3rd light, haven't really looked at it yet but is it easy to remove?

Your don't need to remove it.. I did mine with it in place.. As long as you have a steady hand you are good to go..
