Got a K&N series 63 intake for my 5.7 hemi, will I love it or hate it?

I wanted to Volant or the BWoody. I didn't want to spend $300 on the BWoody... and the Volant just seems to have some fitment issues.

So, I snatched a series 63 K&N CAI setup to go with my Flyin' Ryan ported TB...

Will I love it or hate it? Will it even make a difference? I've done no other performance mods...

Yes, I think I'll get an exhaust at some point - I just don't wantsomething with alot of drone. The MBRP seems nice enough, but I'm not sure it's that much better than stock (or just getting new magnaflow muffler).

No tuners available for the 2010 yet, so I'm on hold for that...

So, what can I expect from the K&N? It does have the 'box' for a good CAI, but it is open - so I am expecting some intake 'sucking' noises...

Any other feedback?

Install seemed easy enough. It was harder to dismantle the factory airbox equipment in such a way that I could reinstall if needed.

It will sound a lot better... off the line performance will be a little better but you should be able to feel a noticeable difference in highway passing speeds.

Once you get an exhaust it will help out even more. I have the MBRP system and love it. 3" piping and no resonator = must less restrictive than stock.

Love it, I put the same one on my 4.7 and it made a difference in performance and a huge difference in sound especially at WOT, I even debated adding a muffler after hearing the sound from the intake.

I also have a K&N CAI on mine. The difference in the sound is tremendous! I put my exhaust on first and it made a bit of difference...sounded better from outside the Jeep for sure. But once I got the CAI on there the sound inside is AWESOME. I occasionally take long road trips, too, and the thing I like is it sounds badass when accelerating but once you're at cruising speed everything is pretty quiet. Unless you get back on it...oh yeah.

As far as performance, I can't say for sure but it feels faster (maybe it is psychological because it sounds faster), though I did notice a jump in my mpg...about 1 or 1.5 mpg more than I used to get with mixed city/hwy driving.
